PHOENIX (AP) -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is spending time at Milwaukee's spring training complex in Phoenix.

Last season's Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player was on a practice field Wednesday and at one point ran out to the outfield to shag balls. He is expected to shoot some TV spots for the Brewers.

Rodgers has been a steadfast defender of Milwaukee slugger Ryan Braun, whose urine tested positive in October for elevated testosterone. His 50-game suspension was overturned by baseball arbitrator Shyam Das, the first time a player has successfully challenged a drug-related penalty in a grievance with Major League Baseball.

The 28-year-old Braun was the National League MVP last season. Rodgers took to Twitter to defend Braun, saying that MLB "tried to sully the reputation of an innocent man."
