Per multiple sources.

@TomSilverstein: #Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has been named the 2014 NFL Most Valuable Player.

@RobDemovsky: Aaron Rodgers is the ninth player to win the AP MVP award more than once.

Rodgers was also a finalist for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, which went to Thomas Davis of the Panthers.

You can see the tape delay of his presentation on the NFL Awards ceremony, on NBC from 9-11 pm EST tonight. MVP is the last award.

From the JSO:

... He became the eighth quarterback in NFL history to win twice since the Associated Press began presenting the award in 1957 and joined quarterback Brett Favre (1995-'97) as the only Packer to win multiple awards.

The other Packers to win the award were running back Paul Hornung ('61), running back Jim Taylor ('62) and quarterback Bart Starr ('66).

... The other NFL quarterbacks who have won multiple MVP awards are Peyton Manning (five), Johnny Unitas (three), Joe Montana (two), Steve Young (two), Kurt Warner (two) and Brady (two).

Some other award winners (with apologies to packerboi, but I'd already loaded these into the post):

Coach of the Year:  Bruce Arians, Cardinals

Offensive Player of the Year: DeMarco Murray, Cowboys

Defensive Player of the Year: J.J. Watt, Texans (first time ever unanimous vote)

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Odell Beckham, Giants

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Aaron Donald, Rams

Comeback Player of the Year: Rob Gronkowski, Patriots

@TomSilverstein: Rodgers said he got emotional after seeing McCarthy in the audience and couldn't finish MVP speech. Said he is close w/his younger brother.

@TomSilverstein: @AaronRodgers12: "I saw him and I mainly got choked up because Mike and I are so close and I forgot the rest of my planned speech."

And I'm sure AR would trade spots with him in an effin minute. Props to AR, amazing season and accomplishment. He deserved this award. Now it's his job and the team's to get back and win the SB. That will be his legacy.

Also worth noting is how many games AR got pulled after dominating on offense. If he plays all 4 quarters in some of those blow outs, have to think it's reasonable to believe he would have thrown at least 40-45 TD's and ran for who knows how many.

His numbers despite playing 3-3.5 quarters at times and on a bad calf at the end of the season were still gaudy as hell. Pretty incredible.
