I may catch some flak for this but props to AP this season. I like to give credit where credit is due and this guy deserves it. Less than a year removed from a serious knee injury and he has 1,812 yards rushing this season after 212 today. Unbelievable. The guy is a freak. So, props to a Viking but I hope like hell the Packers keep him from breaking Dickerson's record in two weeks.

Don't know about his off-the-field class. Recently had a big kerfluffle because he was late to a team bus in the morning. On the sly, some said it was due to a little extra-curricular activity in his room; he said, "My alarm didn't go off." He also had that bit of a tussle in the bar, has been ticketed for speeding, and some say he is becoming positively TOG-like in the locker room. Dude is a HOFer for sure, but not a saint.
I give him a lot of credit for solving his fumble problems in his first year or two.

People tend to get down on some players (Jones for example) if they may mental errors early in their career. Its a sign of a good player to overcome that.

I recall Robert Brooks going OB on a kickoff deep in our territory in one of his first games. It was a real bone head move. That was vs the Bengals in 1992 and our backup QB came into the game when Majik got injured......

Sounds a bit like Maxie the tax and the Golden Boy....except theirs reportedly was not in their room.

Now we have the media where it's tough for a player to get away with anything. Back in the 60's I guess it was Vince with room checks.

My niece works in the media relations department for the Vikings, and she has said that AP acts like a prima donna around his teammates.

I don't put him in that company. Those guys would also attempt to block on pass plays and were good receivers.

Fair point with regard to blocking. Not sure what the issue is there, but data is data.

I would disagree in that AP is average for an RB for swing passes and screen passes. I get your point on everything else.

MVP.
I hate the Vikings with every fiber of my being. Adrian Peterson should be the NFL MVP.

December 24th marks a year since AP blew out two ligaments in his knee. And he's got a great shot to break Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record. The Vikes are a CFL team without him, yet if the season ended today, they'd be in the playoffs.

I have incredible respect for the man. To do what he's doing is simply incredible.
From what I understand many athletes get in to roids or PEDs for injury recovery purposes more so than making them faster and stronger.

With the quite shocking season AP has had I'm kind of surprised there isn't more talk or questioning as to exactly how he was able to pull off this historic season immediately following a significant injury.

I'm not saying he did such a thing (I actually hope he's 100% clean), but in today's day and age I'm more surprised by the silence on the subject.
