I had a friend who worked in law enforcement in the DC/Philly/Baltimore corridor. He talked to a colleague who went to one of Iverson's homes in the mid to 1ate 1990s for a minor incident involving a member of his entourage. When walking through the house they would find $10,000 in cash lying on a table in one room. Then they'd walk through the house a little more and find $20,000 in cash in another room. There would uncashed checks lying around in other rooms. It was obvious that Iverson had no idea how to manage his cash and operated like it was monopoly money. He also had a big entourage he brought with from Virginia.

I don't think this surprises anyone unfortunately. You would have thought John Thompson could have found a personal finance course for him to take at Georgetown.
