I needs to have a good play calling gameplan tonight. The team rallies and plays for MM, I will give him that. Mike's play calls at times still drive me nuts. Green Bay will be favored to get or win the super bowl in 2011, you can bank on that. Finley will get the offense a shot in the arm.

They should to a co-award with Dom Capers
At the JSO, McGinn's Packer Insider piece today is about MM and how he is showing more confidence than ever about this team -- and about how that confidence is paying off with the players both in the locker room and on the field. It's one of McGinn's best, if you can access it I strongly recommend it.
Overall, I think MM calls a good game. He's very innovative with his substitution packages and formations.

I am just not fond of the FB dive, and completely empty backfields.

OTOH, I absolutely love his reverse wishbone formation.
I would like MM's red zone calls to improve. MM himself has said he needs to improve in this area. The TD pass last week to Crabtree was excellent. I stood up and said, "Now THAT was a good playcall!"

Still got some work to do.

This talk of COY is all pollution. Don't listen to the pollution. COY is for reflection. We're not at that point. Think Atlanta. Think WIN!

I forget how much, but McGinn's articles are worth it, yes.

Agreed with Boris on the red zone play calling. It definitely needed work, but there have been glimmers of hope lately.
Do we like Aikman here or is he an idiot? Can't remember...

Don't see how he can't be a candidate. He has his flaws like every coach does but he seems to have the respect of the team and he does have a specialty, grooming QBs. Good hire. Won't be great until they see a bowl however...
I like Aikman. I like MM too except for a handful of playcalling. Must admit though, its easy to overlook his playcalling that works in the middle of the field and throughout the game while its easy to get hot over one or two head scratchers.
I think MM's redzone play calling has improved. He has gotten away from a QB sneak to pick up TD's from the 1 recently. Even play action roll out to put pressure on the defense. Does it work 100% of the time? No, but then neither do some of those plays between the 20's everyone is gushing about.
It's definitely pollution, but I'll take it. I mean, how awesome is it to have the entire country talking about the Packers?

I heard another national guy saying Thompson should get GM of the year, if they had such an award, for how he handled Pevre and for how he has stacked the roster.
I thought I had seen on local TV that Mike Smith was named COY and that Mularkey was named coordinator of the year. Hope I'm wrong on both counts.
There's a few good candidates for Coach of the Year, MM included.
The only deserving candidate for coordinator is Capers. Nobody else is even close.

That was Sporting News I believe.

MM will never be the official NFL COY this year. It is based on regular season and his team was only 10-6 with the 6th spot in the playoffs. If it was going to a 10-6 coach it would be more likely to give it to Raheem Morris (?) the Bucs coach, big turnaround there.

Idots. Running game never mattered. YPC.
What was the stat that Aikman (somewhat surprisingly) pulled out last night? The highest number of wins any other coach has ever had with this many missed games by starters was 6?

Did I hear that right?
