Hornibrook made a lot of good plays. Not that Houston didn't but if he regresses it's good to know they have another option
D played well again today against a team that can throw the ball. Really impressed with the DBs so far this year.

I Owe the World an Apology
As usual, Iowa doesn't schedule anyone worth a damn and they must have missed the memo from the BT commish to beef up the non conference competition.
In other words, they haven't shown me anything at this point.
O$U and Michigan will get tested starting next week and I still think they are the two best BT teams.
Badgers still control their destiny in the West
Hornibrook looks better than Houston to me. Houstave is having trouble hitting open targets downfield- it'll kill this team, because they need those strikes to punish teams when they stack to stop the run.
Horni also got to play in the second half when the outcome was already determined, so lets not read into it to much. Chryst seems to be a good judge of arms, and I don't assume his decision to start Houston was easy.
In all honesty, this team should be able to destroy defenses with the occasional play action pass. Hopefully when they need it, Bart can hit his man.
Houston is poised- that's probably a big thing for Chryst.
No question it wasn't an easy decision, it went all the way through camp. It just sucks not having confidence in a qb connecting on that strike. Against Akron it didn't cost them- against the first 4 B1G opponents it will.
Houston gets a little reckless at times and probably should have had 2 picks against Akron. When he's focused he throws it pretty well (Peavy TD pass) but he can't make silly mistakes.
Hornibrook can throw the deep ball pretty well and seems to have a good feel for the game. Only concern with him is he's not mobile but he did show yesterday he could sidestep the pressure and make the throw.
The good news is I think both guys will get better as Chryst has a history of coaching and mentoring QBs.
Badgers up to 9
Cephus and Taylor move up the depth chsrt:
Good. Not a big fan of Rushing.
