After viewing how many mocks had Alec Ogletree being selected by GB at #26 I started trying to find players to compare him to and settled on Nick Barnett as most like him in physical attributes and I don't know what I would think if GB passed up a down lineman to take him!

What does the rest of Packerland think?

Admittedly knowing nothing about Ogletree, I like the idea of adding some speed at that position.

As far as the Barnett comparison, I think if you get a guy who gives you production like Barnett did during his stint in Green Bay yat 26 ou have to be happy. Warts and all...

This. Not exactly a stellar endorsement to be compared to Barnett. Packers need better performance out of a first round pick.
Thomas Davis is a better comparison. Former Safety's who bulked up to play LB. GB needs someone who is physical in the middle like Bishop. Ogletree goes for the big hit, but he's not would I would classify as physical or as a big hitter.

Yes, for the vet minimum after he had some NFL success. Minimal to no risk. Not the same as burning a first round draft choice on a kid.

Saw on PFT that he was arrested for DUI. Also, served a 4 game suspension last year. He may fall down the draft board, but not Uncle Ted's kind of guy.

DUI
