It's all meaningless unless Worthy, Jones, Raji, Daniels, Boyd get a push up the middle. Squeezing a pocket in the middle effs up everything for QBs. Howard Green / Nick Collins is a good example of what happens when the middle is won.

The NFL didn't begin to credit defensive players with sacks until the early 1980s.

They did, however, count times sacked starting in the early 1960s.

Matthews has 50 so far in his career and sits at number #156 all- time for sacks

With a couple of good seasons, he can move up the list..but he's got to stay on the field. 13 more sacks puts him in Vonnie Holiday territory at the end of 2014
