As a kid growing up in Wisconsin in the 70's and 80's I remember the only time they were on TV was tape delay on PBS on Sunday mornings. Nothing was better than getting up to watch them lose 63-3. And yes I actually got up to watch that.
My other memory was of a game against NW in the early 80's. A guy I played high school football with was being recruited by UW and he made his official visit for a game against NW. They gave away tickets to a bunch of us to see the game since we all tagged along for his visit. There must have been 10,000 people there and that is being generous.
Just through a portion (now and again while at work), but one of the best dang reads ever references on x4.

My dad was one that jumped on the Barry bandwagon when he was hired as HC and got season tickets right away and we enjoyed going to a lot of games. Early on it was difficult to watch but that 1993 team in particular was so much fun to watch and I have great memories of that team. The only real setback was the MN game and they almost pulled that off despite being down 21-0. The OSU game was also disappointing but man the wins against Michigan and Michigan State kind of proved they had finally arrived.
I just finished the article. Man, did that bring back memories. Yeah, the Minnesota game was tough, as well as Ohio State (Badgers had them beat).

Joe Panos: The whole sea of red. Camp Randall West. The place seats 100,000 people and almost 80,000 were our guys wearing Badger red. That was awesome.
