Packers fans have plenty to worry about when it comes to the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It looks like they now have one less thing to worry about.

Via Cynthia Littleton of Variety.com, Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards is in “advanced negotiations” to become the next permanent host of the show.

It’s not done yet, and like any other deal of this nature it won’t be done until it’s done.

A Sony Pictures spokesman told Littleton that discussions are ongoing with several potential candidates to replace Alex Trebek, who died last year at the age of 80, after hosting the show for 36 years.

Rodgers guest-hosted the show for two weeks in April, and he has made no secret of his interest in becoming the permanent host.

Starting from ground zero, Rodgers did a hell of a job hosting the show. There's a lot to orchestrate and he was at the line of scrimmage in complete control. But in his efforts to be "perfect" he stifled his personality and came off as stiff. I'm sure its no easy task - and he didn't bomb - but I didn't feel any connection. He could probably do better over time, but they know they can do better right now.

No worries, he can focus on Ootball.

I like that the executive producer basically offered himself the hosting job. I didn't really like him, I thought he was trying to do an Alex Trebek impersonation. Ken Jennings was the best and makes the most sense. Levar Burton and Aaron were different and a little clumsy at times, but I felt like they weren't trying to be Trebek and were themselves. Levar would be the best choice, he seems like a really solid dude in the same way that Trebek was. Richards has multiple harassment lawsuits to his name from previous shows he's worked on, he sounds like kind of a dirtbag.

Interesting info GD, I got a slightly creepy vibe from Mike Richards when watching him host Jeopardy. He even signed off with an odd Trebek quote that failed to connect, at least in my mind. Safe pick I guess,

I felt Rodgers did well but was too wooden, no INT but no big TD either.

Burton was delayed in his confirmation of responses and not very spontaneous. I thought that Mayim Bialik was the best, brains of a neuroscientist and the ease and confidence in front of a camera developed through years of starring in sitcoms.
