I hear ya, Goldie.
It's the proverbial damned if you do, damned if you don't when it comes to 'picking' the winners for this weekend.
Atlanta may be the team I have the least against, but can't stand their "lifelong" fans here, who are now all of a sudden showing up everywhere.
Baltimore has 2 strikes against them with Coach Hairball and the Ray Lewis glorification. Baltimore used to be a great football town; now...not so much.
Never been a fan of the 49ers and not about to start now. You should want the team that beat you to beat everybody else they face, but I can't root for them.
The Cheatriots and Unfrozen Caveman Coach...ugh; what else can be said about them? And their PITA owner.
Don't care too much, but...

I'm tired of the Pats/Brady/Belicheck/the Northeast so I hope the Ravens beat the **** out of them. But I don't see it happening.

I'm not a fan of Jim Harbaugh, and Kaepernick's bicep kissing last weekend really annoyed me. Too much show for a guy in his first full season. So I hope the Ravens beat the **** out of them. But I don't see it happening.

I don't understand some of the negativity spewed towards Matt Ryan, Mike Smith and the Atlanta Falcons. Ryan seems like an decent guy and I don't think he came up with the "Matty Ice" monicker. Smith seems like an okay guy, not really pompous. I'm no Atlanta fan, but they've never won so I'll pull for them.

What is it about Ryan you dislike? Not being confrontational, rather genuinely interested.

For me it went back to the 2010 season and the arrogance I felt both Ryan and Mike Smith were giving off. And I also made the mistake that year of browsing the message boards of dirty bird fans. Christ what a bunch of fair weather a holes they were. I distinctly remember one of their biggest worries were that Falcon fans wouldn't be seated at the start of the game. I was like huh?

But I guess their fans have a habit of not being seated until well into the 1st quarter. And that same year many were convinced Matt Ryan and that offense would be far superior to GB's. Back then few respected or even cared about Jordy Nelson. White boy proved why they should have been worried.

Like Matt Schaub, I just don't feel Ryan is the real deal. Maybe he proves me wrong today. But I doubt it.
I see your point. Although, to me, it seems like most of the hype with Ryan is media/fan generated. He seems like a decent guy to me. Not pompous, not a "Look at me" type player.

Interestingly, he (and the Falcons) takes grief for not advancing in the playoffs while he's been their QB. But in the three years prior to this season that the Falcons made the playoffs, his team lost to the NFC representative in the Super Bowl. And twice the team he lost to was THE SB Champ! While he didn't perform greatly, does anyone think the Packers would've lost to the Falcons in 2010? Or the Giants would've lost last year? He really hasn't lost a game the Falcons should've won in the playoffs (yet) IMO.

Just my take.
Ryan had a huge year this year, 4700 yards and 32 TDs. He finally won a stinking playoff game so that knock on him is out the window. He completely melted down in the 4th quarter last week, but give him credit he made 2 big throws to get into FG range to win the game.

Seems to be picking San Fran to not only win today, but win huge. I'll say Atlanta and New England get to the Super Bowl.

The one matchup I don't want to see is Baltimore/San Fran. Harbaugh this, Harbaugh that, Ray Lewis is a great humanitarian, blah blah. No thanks.
