I miss the days when announcers were fun. Guys like Meredith "Turn Out the Lights" and John "Boom! Bam! Pow!" Madden and Keith "Whoa Nellie!" Jackson and Joe Garagiola and even Howard Cosell because he was such a blowhard that you had fun just waiting to see what he'd say next. Today the announcers are cookie-cutter with guys in the booth who played and are now trying to hang around the game, and the ladies that are mostly eye-candy on the sidelines. And they're all so serious about their jobs -- for pete's sake it's sports, they're not calling brain surgery or anything. Have some fun, real fun, not the manufactured Chris Collingsworth fun.
