Movies have gone to far IMO. 3D adds nothing to a movie for me and special effects just detract from a good story.
Good to hear an actor like DeNiro is putting his weight behind re-introducing something like a silent film. Black and white maybe?
3D is just a way to charge us more. period.
even my 8yo boy doesn't like 3D and they make all the animated movies 3D now.
Vinny Barbarino as Lombardi?
According to that press release, the Packers won the Ice Bowl.

'The Artist' was terrible.
I don't know that 3d necessarily adds anything because the images we're seeing are already 3d (you wouldn't call it a 2d movie?). It is definitely a way for the studios to charge more. That doesn't mean all 3d movies are bad, I appreciated the use of 3d on movies like Avatar and Gravity. Those directors took the time to do it right though and not make it some post converted 3d mess.
The linked story is not quite correct. Lombardi was the offensive coordinator, not just the o-line coach when he was with the Giants. And he did not beg to coach the Packers. Jack Vanisi had studied Lombardi and knew he would be a good fit. It was Vanisi who 1st talked to Lombardi unofficially to see if he was interested. Vanisi then suggested to Dominic Olejniczak (I looked up the spelling) that he talk to George Halas, Pete Rozelle, and even the Mara family who owned the Giants to see if Lombardi would be a good head coach. All said yes and the rest is history.
