I have seen more injuries from that kind of tackle than any other. Where the tackler grabs on, jumps off the ground and swings his body into the ball carrier's lower body. That's what made the horse collar tackle so dangerous.

One opinion is it happened the step before the tackle.
Bigger worry with #AdrianPeterson is 1st step not last one with ankle pinned. Hope ACL spared & just meniscus. https://t.co/VvRQHPuZAA

that was my first thought upon seeing the replay - it was that pounding step down. I told my wife that I bet he sprained the ball joint in his ankle - which is a real bitch and I've done it. couldn't walk on it for days. I was wrong about what was hurt but I'll bet that's when the injury occurred.
Sounds like Peterson is having surgery tomorrow. Significant meniscus tear and surgery means he's out an extended period.

He'll whip this thing!

In his career, Adrian Peterson has torn an ACL, MCL, LCL (x2) and meniscus. #Vikings

Fork = done
stick it in him.
He may have one or two more years with 5 to 6 hundred yards.
AP is done. It is a young mans game, a game of replacement.
And, I for one, do not feel a bit sorry for the SOB.
