I've always thought Eli was a bit slow on the uptake.  His brother goes to Denver and doesn't miss a beat.  Eli gets a new OC and he's just baffled...  by an accent no less.  Time for McAdoo and Eli to go out drinking for a few nites so they can understand each other when sober.

Good read here on Rodgers' outstanding play in camp so far. All reports have both he and Lacy tearing it up daily. Love watching a plan come together.

@TomPelissero: Aaron Rodgers looks fantastic, even for him. He told me last year's mess helped him find "renewed passion." http://t.co/Vn9wgKziQn

My dental hygenist, super nice lady, BTW, left me a little irritated today on the subject of Packers' QBs. To paraphrase:

"I haven't warmed up to Aaron Rodgers yet. He just lacks the passion Favre played ". ARRRRGH!

Okay, I didn't really growl at the nice leady, but I think my reply was stern enough that she quickly changed the subject. I simply said, "I disagree".

What the hell does Arod have to do to show to please these Favrerites? Throw a pick fom his knees? This is one of the most courageous QBs I have ever witnessed. Dude stands in the pocket and takes BIG shots just so he can complete that deep ball. Under the same circumstances, Brett back pedals and throws of his back foot. This is a QB who will run through LBs to get that first down after 9 years in the league. At this stage, Brett was throwing the ball away to preserve his body, even when it was obvious he was over the line of scrimmage.

Look at the stats. We are witnessing the greatest QB in Packers history. Guarantee you, Rodgers would have more than one Super Bowl win with that '96 team. No way, he makes the same blankety blank throws Favre threw in Super Bowl 32... or throw 6 picks against the St Louis Rams.

Now, if I had one wish for Rodgers, it would be that he would quit taking those big shots and quit trying to run over LBs for that first down. I want him to play with the same passion Favre displayed so that he can play longer.

Yer right Goalline, but nothing you can say will change her mind or the millions like her who grew up listening to Madden et al slobbering Favre's knob. In the court of casual fan opinion, he's the bee's knees. From a football perspective he was a terribly flawed player whose brain-fart to hero play ratio wasn't good enough to string together the requisite wins for a Title. But don't fret, they will lick his balls for all eternity and they are all lapping up the Disney-esque script of his triumphant return

Absolutely nothing you can do about people who prefer living in a fantasy scripted by Hollywood and shoved down their gullets by the boob tube announcers

Football people know; fanboys and fangirls just wanna worship and be entertained

Televangelists can only do so much.

and quit trying to run over LBs for that first down

Largely, I believe AR has given that up.  hasn't done it since he got knocked out in detoilet I believe?  that said, if all the marbles are on the line I'm sure he'd do it again.

IKR....makes me wanta scream!

Even those who should know better are idiots when it comes to Favre. Deon Sanders was on NFL Network going on & on about "why are the Packer's announcing the jersey retirement & ring-of-honor now & waiting a year to do it" blah blah blah. Never occurs to him that they are still worried about fans booing him & are waiting for his own good!

Best response to someone who says AR lacks passion?

Shhhhhhhhhh

Yeah, I had considered that. I remember speaking with a mother and daughter shortly after the Pack's last Super Bowl. They were shocked that Teddy had pulled it off.

Think it was later in the same drive Simms was talking about the Raider defense trying to hold it together and said...."they have to remember, you're not facing a QB like Aaron Rodgers every week".

No they're not Phil. But someone is.

If my math is correct. AR led 8 drives this pre season with 4 TDs. He led 5 drives last pre season with no TDs

He looks like a focused assassin in complete control of anything he wants to do.
