We are going to have a lot of our fans in the Metrodump next week. It's going to be a far cry from having Colledge at LT on a disaster of an offensive line in a stadium filled with fairweather Queens fans that were drunk on delusions of a Superbowl win.

Talk to me next week after our game vs. the Vikings.
I'm taking them one game at a time and simply hoping to see the team become more dominant each week.

I don't care how bad the vikes have looked. Favre is still good enough to pull one out and there is no team he would rather beat than the Packers. Chilly has to figure his own chance on saving his job for next season is by winning out. The team as a whole would like nothing more than a win over GB--misery loves company idea.

With games against the Giants, Falcons, and Bears left on the schedule, I am not ready to crown anything yet.

And Campman as the OL coach, and Bush as DB, and rookies starting everywhere, and castoffs playing key roles, and .... etc.

Something tells me there is a reason 'they play the games'. Lets WIN the games before crowning anything. "WIN" can be an acronym for What's Important Now. And what's important now is to WIN the games.

This!
You forgot New England.

We could go 13-3 or we could go 9-7.
I'm as optimistic as the next guy, but our second half is brutal.

Still didn't like seeing another FG blocked in that last game though.

from what I could tell that block was completely on Crosby. that ball had the trajectory of a line drive up the middle in baseball.

Perfectly acceptable if you're at a strip club drinking some Crown Royal looking at a dancer's ass. It's all about the context Wink

This team needs to be no worse than 12-4 and only lose to AFC, or not at all.

See, I disagree. We've played pretty well in some touch stadiums. Winning in Philly and New York showed me something. I'd like to get healthy, but I think this team is very capable of winning on the road in the playoffs. I'd rather we didn't have to find out, and just hosted at Lambeau until we go to the Super Bowl.
MM's record:

Lambeau: 25-14
Road games: 19-15
Overall: 44-29

The bulk of the home losses occurred in 2006 and 2008, with 5 losses at home in 06 and 4 in 08. Hardly a surprise since those were by far his two worst teams. In his 'good' years, he's 18-5 at home including this year. That is a pretty decent road record, though.

Add in the Patriots (albeit non-conference) and the factthe Bears are now tied and have the tie-breaker currently and it's WAY too early to make declarations like that.
Sixteen regular season games in each of the first four seasons (eight home, eight away) plus nine games in 2010 makes 73 regular season games total. As the Packers have played five games at Lambeau this season, there should be 8*4 + 5 = 37 home games, and 8*4 + 4 = 36 road games. The Packers played two home playoff games after the 2007 season, and one road playoff game after the 2009 season, for a grand total of 39 home games and 37 road games.

Have I missed something?

I didn't find a specific breakdown so I computed it in my head while doing other things. Get out your add-em-upper and find out if my math is off by a couple of games, which it could be.

If it is, I'll have Shoeless Joe give you a massage.

Yeah... but what would be really telling is our record in cold games during that stretch. At least after Dec 1rst or something similar.

I'm not worried about being on the road. This team is not built for -20 football.

I forgot this year's road games. Add in the 1-1 home record in the playoffs and 0-1 on the road in the playoffs and you get:

Overall home record:

25-14

Overall road record:

20-17

I was more commenting on the fact that I believe the Packers are the best team in the NFC right now...which doesn't necessarily mean we'll win the conference, but I like our chances.

I occasionally suffer from premature coronation.
MM really "likes his team's chances" in the coming weeks, with the next two games being "critical" in determining playoff seeding. Look for him to devise an offensive strategy, with the main goal being to score more points than the other team.

Oh, and we're trading for Joe Thomas.
Back to the OP's original subject, I think we are who we thought we were going to be defensively - perhaps a little better, and we are not who we thought we were going to be offensively. We have some time to get that straightened out though, and we need AR and Jennings to step up their games.
