GREEN BAY β Dom Capers planned to soak in Sunday's victory, but not for too long.
The Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator had every intention of sticking to his typical day-after-game routine of arriving at his Lambeau Field office by 3 a.m. to dissect the game film and get a head start on the next week.
That there's even a next week for the Packers is a testament to the magical work Capers has done this season with a unit that has had to deal with injuries from start to finish.
There haven't been many brighter moments for that defense than the second half of Sunday's 10-3 victory over the visiting Chicago Bears, when Capers pulled out all the stops to help the Packers beat their rivals to clinch an NFC wild card berth.
Green Bay (10-6), the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoffs, will play at third-seeded Philadelphia (10-6) in a first-round game at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Bears (11-5) were the third team this season that failed to score a touchdown against the Packers, who finished the season as the No. 2 scoring defense in the NFL behind Pittsburgh. The 24 touchdowns Green Bay allowed this season were its fewest since the 1996 Super Bowl team gave up 19.
He arrives at 3:00a.m.????? OMG!!!
