It is more and more difficult to like college sports.  I used to like it because even tho it only lasted 4-5 years it felt like you really got to know the guys and could cheer for them.  Now it is here today, gone tomorrow.

I have always like college sports a lot but like you it is getting harder and harder to like it anymore.  I have always been on the players side that they should be able to transfer if a coach leaves, etc. and I have always thought they should get paid something while they are in school.

But, you hear of transfer instances where players like Mertz can transfer twice in one year or of players on their third team in four years.  And you hear of players like Arch Manning or the new QB Michigan just signed getting 3-4 million a year it is getting crazy.

thank god. but where on earth does the kid think he’s going to get a scholarship to play football?

Exactly, If any of the potential landing spots have actually seen him play may think twice.  Perhaps someone will see something but I am not sure what.

So why in the hell is the transfer portal open before the post season/bowl season?  I cannot imagine being a CFB coach and having a bunch of players hit the portal while you are trying to prep for a bowl game.

Locke leaving won’t create much heartburn.  Him staying might.

I see Trech Kekahuna had a change of heart and is coming back to UW.  That’s a good thing as he’s a super talented guy that probably can be featured more on offense

Is it just a coincidence that Kekahuna decided to opt out of his transfer once Locke declared?   Could that have been the reason Kekahuna was leaving hoping he could find a QB that knew how to get him the ball?

They should beat Miami (OH), Middle Tennessee, Maryland and maybe Washington.  Where the other 2  or 3 wins come from to be bowl eligible remains to be seen.

Fickell better go 3-1 in September 2025 when they start the season with the three games Miami (OH), Middle Tennessee, and Maryland like you mention. The other September game is at Alabama. If he starts the season 2-2 next year he may not make it to November.

The October games are at Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, and at Oregon. The combined score from those 4 games and the Alabama game could very easily be something like 200-50 in the 5 losses. The only game they would have a chance to stay close in is the Iowa game.
