Chourio ends the 8th with a catch. Finally!
Is Billy Beane at the game?
Never thought we might need insurance runs, but....
Make that 3!!!!!
CONTRERAS 2RUN HR!!! 15-8, CREW!!
Paredes stays on the mound for the bottom of the 9th.

Better have someone warming up if a couple of guys get on.
1-2-3 ninth.
Never in doubt...
The Dodgers are running out of pitchers to the point where Roberts was quoted as saying that Ohtani may pitch in the post-season. Glasnow is out for the year. Kershaw has a broken toe. They gave three other guys on rehab assignments in the minors (Gonsolin, Kelly, and Stone).
But the Dodgers can't complain about injury luck given what's happened to the Brewers this year.
Magic #3
Dodgers lost to the Braves 10-1
Turang picks up a rare error. Only his 5th of the season.

It's on MLB Network....
Brewers fall behind 5-0 only to come back and take a 7-5 lead. Chourio got things started with a 3 run HR.
Perdomo scores on a hit by Grichuk. 8-7 Brewers, with one out in the bottom of the 7th. Grichuk gets a double
Heads up play by Adames gets the pinch runner, on 2nd, out trying to advance.
Payamps pitching for the Brewers.
Megill pitching the 8th for the Crew.
Megill walks Carroll on 4 pitches. Walker, 2-3 today, at bat.
Carroll steals 2nd. Tying run in scoring position. No outs.
Megill strikes out Walker. 1 out.
Wild pitch advances Carroll to 3rd.
Pop up scores Carroll. The game. 2 outs.
Brewers go up 8-6, but the D-backs come back after Megill walks the leadoff hitter in the 8th on 4 pitches, he steals second, goes to third on a wild pitch, and scores on a sac fly.
Bell grounds out to 2nd base. End of the inning.
Koenig pitching the 9th, for the Crew.
Ortiz with a nice grab at 3rd and throw to 1st to get the final out of regulation. Extra innings, here we come.
Ortiz on 2nd, Snakes walk Turang. Chourio triples and drives on both Ortiz and Turang! Wow! Why did they walk Turang, with Chourio on deck??? I'll take it! 10-8 Brewers!
Adames up. Strikes out. Bottom of the 10th coming up. Koenig stays in to try to close this one.
Single scores the courtesy runner. 10 - 9 Crew.
Arizona scores their automatic runner. Now, bases loaded nobody out. 10-9 Brewers.
Walker hit by pitch. Tie game. Bases loaded. Nobody out.
Could Koenig have pitched any worse? And why not use Devin? Game over 11- 10.
Walk off single by Suarez. Game over 11-10 Arizona.
Remains at 3. Cubs win, Phillies win, Dodgers just starting at Atlanta. Not much changes.
That loss is on Murphy if Williams was available to pitch.
You’re trying for an all important first round bye. I know the Phillies are coming up, but every win is important. That should have been a sweep.
Braves are beating the Dodgers 2-0 in the 4th.
Oh well, can't win them all. A coulda shoulda wouda type game.
Back in Milwaukee tomorrow to start a series with the Phillies, before a rematch with the snakes.
Anyway, here's where things stand tonight:
eam | W | L | PCT | GB | STRK |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Milwaukee | 86 | 63 | .577 | - | L1 |
Chicago | 76 | 73 | .510 | 10 | W1 |
St. Louis | 74 | 75 | .497 | 12 | L3 |
Cincinnati | 73 | 78 | .483 | 14 | L1 |
Pittsburgh | 71 | 78 | .477 | 15 | W1 |
Murphy blew that game. His rationale didn't even make sense. Either Williams is available or he's not. He got up to warm up in the bullpen twice. If you are afraid of overworking him and are going to hold him out, don't get him up to throw at all. Period.
Inexcusable managerial decision.
