The rumored reason Donnell Washington never got to play is because he gave AIDS to about 39% of the women in Dane County. Some of whom, I believe, took care of orphans.
I actually thought he was getting his coaching act together (learned from experience after starting as a head coach with close to zero experience). His cupboard was pretty bare and in his later coaching years the defense was still just not very good.
Although I do fault him for letting Ted Hendricks go.
Starr was at least an average coach by the end of his tenure. Three things he had no control over helped do him in. Lynn Dickeys injuries, Eddie lee Ivery blowing out his knee, and the fact the Hadl trade killed the franchise for about five years. The two biggest things that he had control of were drafting Rich Campbell and not ever getting a good defensive coordinator.
I think Starr was might have been very successful if he was in the position that McCarthy is - not having to worry about the draft and getting a good DC (at least in 2010!). I think he had the respect of the players.
A nice thread quickly going south.
da fuq?
This will go down not as the dumbest post of the year, but the dumbest post of the decade. I've seen some real idot things posted on X4 but this is the most idotic of all time. Boris should change your user name because you certainly are not a Pack fan. Maybe Yooperidot would be better.
Shoot...that won't even win dummest post of the month honors. Honorable mention for sure.
Bart Starr Jr says Bart Sr took his first steps in three months today. He'll be back for next year's event
Bart Jr: I can't wait until next year when dad can tell you how much he loves all of you
Just read that Bart had 2 strokes, a heart attack and seizures.....a tough SOB.
Good luck and merry Christmas to the Starr fam.
Sometimes I forget why I think you're a dumbass.....and then I remember.
He was no Forrest Gregg
@JeffAshPG: New @CamelliaBowl game in Montgomery, AL, names its MVP trophy for #Packers great Bart Starr. It's his hometown. http://t.co/1H6oxVi3M6
They should name name the Super Bowl MVP trophy after him.
Although methinks Bart prefers that this one is named after him:
The Athletes in Action/Bart Starr Award is given annually to an NFL player who best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community. Nominees are gathered from the Public Relations Directors of each NFL team, the past winners of the Bart Starr Award, the Athletes in Action Pro Staff working with NFL teams and Bart Starr himself. Ballots are sent to each team and voting takes place at the same time as the Pro Bowl selections. The votes are tabulated and the winner is announced at the annual Super Bowl Breakfast, an NFL-sanctioned event hosted by Athletes in Action. The award, bearing the name of the Pro Football Hall of Famer, honors Starr’s lifelong commitment to serving as a positive role model to his family, teammates, and community.
I know how difficult it would be for him to travel....
but it sure would be effing cool if Bart made it to this game
Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it
Go Packers
Sadly, I get the sense that Bart will more likely be wheeled into a hospice than into Lambeau---Father Time even beats Lombardi's Packers.
Blair Bummer.
Lambeau IS hospice
Where else would you rather be ?
I'm sure most doctors would recommend that the fast road to recovery is be in the bitter cold surrounded by 80,000 of your closest friends.
He should have his own mini suite with full medical support. (if he wants it)
Bart turns 81 today. A good day for prayers for his continued recovery and strength for he and his family.
Please have a speedy full recovery, Mr. Starr. All Y'all are in our prayers.
You need to see these playoffs in 2015. They're dedicated to you.
damn, I thought this thread was about me

He is the best.
Wow.
Starr family turns to Howe family for advice
APRIL 02, 2015
BUFFALO — - Aware of the miraculous recovery made by Mr. Hockey in recent months, the family of ailing NFL Hall of Famer Bart Starr has reached out to the Howe family in order to gather information about his treatment...
[According to Gordie Howe's son, Mark,] “The [Starr] family called us and asked about the (stem cell) treatment dad received. I’m not sure if they have proceeded with it, but certainly dad’s recovery has created a lot of awareness about the treatment.”
With Gordie Howe having suffered a major stroke late last year that had his kids making funeral arrangements, a Tijuana-based medical clinic operated by Novastem specializing in stem cell treatments reached out to the Howe family, a gesture that turned out to be a blessing.

The boys took their dad from Texas to Mexico, where the amazing treatment followed Dec. 8-9.
Gordie Howe, who celebrated his 87th birthday on Tuesday, has recovered to the point where he’s been able to go fishing with his kids and actually helps them sweep the floors the odd time...
By all accounts Gordie was at death's door. Here's hoping Bart comes back as strong as Mr. Hockey has.
Yikes, I hope Bart steers clear
This is not a legit outfit and it would be a travesty for Bart to listen to them

Its a long story, but these guys are just quacks preying on hope and hyping an unproven therapy
So what other options exist? Do nothing, try conventional stuff which doesn't appear to work, try some unproven therapy, pray. I'm not about to criticize a family facing this type of decision.
I hope and pray Bart can get back to full health soon. He is without a doubt one of the classiest people I ever met. I tell people where I live now that Bart Starr was the speaker at my 8th grade football banquet and they don't believe it. He told some great stories and pulled the whole team aside and gave us a little pep talk. He signed a picture for me that unfortunately I have lost over the years.
that's better than my 8th grade banquet - we got Chester Marcol.

I am not criticizing the family, I am criticizing NovaScam.
They are scam artists preying on desperate people - which is why they are located in Tijuana- just out of the reach of US laws that are designed to keep the snake-oil scammers at bay. What they are doing is lying about their alleged success, which is what drew Starr and family to them in the first place. Its disgusting
The Hippocratic Oath says: First, do no harm
according to facebook, some essential oils will take care of any and all problems
What if I have a problem with you ?
Do I take the essential oils or force them on you ?
What types of oils are we talking?
Havoline?
Mobil?
Castrol?
I thought imbibing them was lethal, but then again I'm not a docter.
STP goes down the smoothest
God bless you, Bart. Thank you for what you've meant to my life. Hopefully, you'll continue so that you'll have the same influence on my children.
I hope the 2015 Packers dedicate the 2015 season...to number 15
Win Title # 14 in '15 for 15
