My point exactly.

Too many people throw a GM under the bus when a 1st Rounder doesn't pan out. Without checking, I'd imagine just about every single mock draft, pundit, pro, talking head, etc. had Chris Williams as a first round pick....just like Angelo. And he didn't work out. I don't think Williams would've been any better or shown any more promise if he were picked later in Round 1 or later in the draft. He just can't play at a pro level.

On a side note, I can see the criticism in the Harrell pick as he was coming off of a significant injury which occurred at the beginning of his senior season. Too much risk for that high of a pick.

But his significant injury in college (biceps tear) was never an issue in the pros. I think what did him in was laziness (which I don't believe was a knock on Harrell in college) and back injuries (which was never an issue in college). I don't want to rehash the Harrell pick b/c we all have our opinion. But obviously it turned out bad, but the good thing is that TT has shyed away from injury history's in the first round.
Sounds like the Eagles are already sniffing around on the guy. I'll be very curios to see if he can resurface as at least a valuable backup. I think his injuries have been a big issue and those will likely follow him, but he's had three coordinators and three positions in his time at Chicago. Not to mention nothing in the way of talent for his supporting cast.

It'd be funnier if he succeeds elsewhere, but the odds aren't on his side as an Angelo pick.

I was only suggesting that it could be considered "risky" drafting a player that, if healthy, is 1st Round talent, but had a significant injury early in his senior season.

Despite Williams chronic back issues, pretty everyone had him in the first round. Can't really blame Angelo for the pick IMHO.
