No way.

Packers have won several games without CMIII, including key games they weren't supposed to win.

That said, he practiced yesterday. Let's calm our tits.

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke with the media for about eight minutes after Thursday afternoon's practice. Here are the highlights.

On Julius Peppers' improvement:

He's definitely been everything I thought he would be. He's getting more and more comfortable. It's not only if he's playing faster, it's how they're playing together in the scheme. You just need reps. That's why we do a lot of the same drills we used to do in training camp and just carry them over the regular season.

On Matthews:

Clay took his individual reps. I haven't spoken to him after practice. I don't have a beat on Sunday yet.

On Nick Perry:

We don't have a handle on it today. Nick practiced today. Did some good things at practice. He looked good.

On Bears not having Devin Hester:

Devin Hester is a great returner. He's impacted a lot of football games. I'm glad he's not in Chicago, but obviously we'll see him down the road when we play Atlanta.

On Bears special teams:

They're good on special teams. Good speed. I thought they did some good things Monday night.

On a September trip to Chicago:

I've always looked at the Chicago series that you get to play one in decent weather, and one in bad weather. When you have these type of rivalry games. It's two totally different types of games, when they play in the fall and in the winter.

On Jay Cutler:

He's playing very well. He's coming off a good year. He missed some games last year, but he had some good numbers. He looks comfortable in their system. It's a quarterback-friendly system.

On Davon House:

Just, consistency. Davon, I thought he arrived last training camp where you thought, man, this guy is going to jump up and play in the starting position. I think he's doing that on more of a consistent basis. I think his ability to track the football and go up and catch the football has really improved.

On Bears receivers:

They've got a big, physical group there. Big targets. They're aggressive, experienced. You can see the relationship between the quarterback and whole receiver group. It's definitely a challenge when you play those big boys.

On Packers receivers getting open:

I think our receiver group is getting better. I think our offense needs to get going, and it starts with me. Everything that happens on offense is ultimately my responsibility. I'm happy with our receiver group. I think we have some guys in that group who have potential.

On critique McCarthy would give himself:

I'm 1-2.

Packers injury report vs. Bears:

Boykin - Questionable

Matthews -Probable

House - Probable

Brad Jones - Questionable

Perry - Probable

MM: Jarrett Boykin played 3 games. He was injured yesterday. We'll give him till Sunday to see if he can go.

Boykin has a knee and groin injury

Nasty Ms. Jackson time?

MM: Jamari Lattimore is very comfortable in there. He's definitely a play-maker with his ability to run and hit

MM: I'm confident in all the tight ends. Richard Rodgers included. What we're asking him to do, he's getting better all the time

MM on Matthews: "So far, so good. The medical report today was good on Clay. We're confident he'll be ready to go."

MM on players not losing job to injury: "You have to look at all situations. I don't look at absolutes. That's where you get in trouble"

After the DET game Coach  said this in his opening statement:

“we stayed committed to the run… put a lot on Aaron there in the 2nd half… maybe should’ve went to the ball… gave him the ball earlier… that’s something I’ll look at…”

Then on Tuesday  told fans who are wondering if the  or    are impacting the QBs play:

"Those are so idiotic it's not even worth responding to either one of those"

The QB also had this to say:

Maybe the Coach and the QB had a nice sit down on Monday while watching the film and from McCarthy's self-scouting it led him to decide to give AR the keys this week which prompted Rodger's R-E-L-A-X comment? Or maybe Rodgers is trying to convince himself as much as he's trying to calm Packers fan?

The Chicago Bears have unveiled their official injury report for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers with five players declared out: offensive linemen Roberto Garza (ankle) and Matt Slauson (ankle); defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (concussion); linebacker Shea McClellin (hand) and cornerback Sherrick McManis (quadriceps).

In the meantime, receiver Brandon Marshall (ankle), defensive end Jared Allen (illness) and safety Chris Conte (shoulder) are all listed as questionable with safety Ryan Mundy (shoulder) and defensive end Trevor Scott (foot) both probable.

Marshall and Allen each missed both Bears practices this week. Marshall is still dealing with the ankle injury he suffered in Week 1 against the Bills and aggravated Monday night against the Jets.

Bears coach Marc Trestman said the team might try to work Marshall out on Saturday to test his ankle but could push their decision on his availability deep into Sunday morning.

Marshall has participated in only one practice the last three weeks and that was on a limited basis last Saturday. Keeping him up to speed with the offensive game plan, Trestman said, has been a challenge even though Marshall has played each of the past two games.

"You’ve got to practice the game,” Trestman said. “It’s very difficult to be at your best when you don’t practice every day. There are timing issues. There are different formations. There’s different looks. So that’s a challenge. And you have to weight those costs and benefits as you move through the week in knowing that he may or may not play. So we try to work through that. And if he is going to play, we’re going to try to work hard to put him in position. What are the things we can give him where he knows what to do so he can play at full speed.”

Allen, meanwhile, was at Halas Hall for part of Friday morning but was sent home to continue resting and recovering.

Seriously, after Garza, and McClellin, who has ever heard of any of these other guys?
We know Marshall, Allen, and Conte, but Mundy and Scott?

We should be able to steamroll them offensively.

Should...

I'm getting that feeling too. Time to exorcise the offensive demons. I expect Lacy to run wild.

I do have concerns about the Packer D against what has become one of the best offenses in the league. They were admirable against the Lions, if they can build off that it would be oh so nice.

It would help if Marshall is still limited.

Me too. Plus Starks. It is the type of defense he gashes.

@ByRyanWood: The Jets (1st), Lions (2nd) and Seahawks (4th) all rank top 4 in NFL rush defense. The Bears are 26th. Something to keep in mind.
