GBFanForLife: The NFL is prohibited from releasing specifics on substance abuse suspensions per their policies.. other than to say the player violated the NFL Substance Abuse Policy and is subsequently suspended for X amount of games.

That said, the suspended players and their agents are free to discuss specifics. A common theme these days seems to be that suspended players claim they were suspended for using a drug prescribed by their doctor (I.E. Adderall) because they failed to properly notify the league they were using it. It's nothing more than a PR stunt to save face.

If you recall, Mike Neal was suspended (According to him) because his doctor prescribed him Adderall for ADHD. He claimed he was legally taking it, but forgot to let the NFL know about it. Ooopsie.

Yea, I'm not buying that line of BS either.
