Biggest surprise(s) to me have been the Smith brothers. I expected them to improve our OLB play quite a bit over 2018 but 18 1/2 sacks in 10 games? 17 TFL. 38 QB hits. How often do you see a big free agent signing come in and immediately outplay their contract? Not too often and we have two doing it at the same time. Wow.

Biggest disappointment(s) is also a tie for me at the same position. Geronimo and MVS. I expected by now one of these guys would have emerged as a clear #2 WR on the team. Instead they are about to get passed up by a UDFA in Lazard. I wouldn't consider either of them as a good #3 right now. They are #4 WR's. Jimmy Graham and both RB's have done more. Adams was out for a month and neither one of them took that opportunity to show that they are legit WR's that you can count on to step up when needed.

Bless where his hear is tonight.

Biggest surprise: Packer team in general. Never even considered the possibility of the team fighting for the #1 seed at this point in the season. Best part- they're 8-2 and really haven't played a complete game yet where all three phases click.

Biggest disappointment: Special teams followed by the defense. Expected more from both but there's still time to turn it around.

Just how explosive the entire running corp has been.  I also agree Smith Bros production is insane.  Also agree MVS and Allison have been a disappointment but I don't think it's that much of surprise.  I like MVS but he doesn't look natural at all running certain routes.  Allison, who knows.  Scrubs being scrubs.

Savage looking like an absolute game changer before getting dinked and scheme changes to help cover the middle of the field.  I expect big things next year.

Opie flaming out.  Maybe it's a Mason Crosby type situation.  I hope so because he flat out sucks right now.

ST is the suckiest of the suck.  That whole thing needs some serious re-evaluation and now.

Biggest surprise: The way MLF has handled this team. It could have been messy with Rodgers given all the media made of their relationship at the start. He changed their play from all QB centered to following his word and making them run the ball half the time. He's installed a new offense and while it hasn't totally clicked yet, it's just beneath the surface. And it seems he's pushed all the right buttons in terms of letting players be more personable and yet accountable. So far, he's been a very pleasant surprise.

Second-biggest surprise: Lazard and Williams and Jenkins. Young guys making huge contributions.

Biggest suck: Bak's play. I don't know if he's hurt or what, but he's not playing at the level we're used to seeing. It's the fall-off that makes me name him as a disappointment.

Second-biggest suck: STs--when was the last time GB had aces special teams?

"ST is the suckiest of the suck.  That whole thing needs some serious re-evaluation and now."

If MLF doesn't can that coach in the offseason and replace him, it's shades of Dom Capers-like devotion.

He has not earned retention.

Biggest surprise:  Overall Health of the team.  We've seen some disastrous years healthwise in the past, but so far this team has been well above average in terms of avoiding injuries.  They lost Lane Taylor, but had a more physically gifted player waiting in the wings which lessened the impact of his absence.  Maybe the one injury to watch out for is Bulaga. He's got that hand injury that might impact his ability to grapple with DEs and OLBs.  Hopefully he can fight through it, but it's the type of thing that could affect his play.

Biggest Disappointments:  Some of the recent draft picks.  Josh Jackson, Owen Burks, Rashaan Gary.  Would like to see more from those guys but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen this year.

Biggest surprise is what the Smiths have brought to this defense.  leadership AND production.  They have brought an aggressiveness back the Packers defense.

The running game.  MLF wasn't giving lip service when he said he will commit to the run.  He has kept his word in a big way.

MLF.  I admit I knew nothing about him before he was hired so I had a cautious approach for what to think of him.  He seems to really have the pulse of the team figured out and is really coaching them up.  I know its very very early but to me all signs point to perhaps we have a darn good HC.

Biggest disappointments?  this team is off to a great start so I don't have many complaints at all since I didn't expect it yet.  But if I have one it would be the defense not being able to cover the TE and giving up a lot of big plays.

Surprise -  Jenkins.  Kid is playing better than any rookie I can recall playing in Green Bay ever.   He is a legitimate pro bowler and offensive rookie of the year candidate.   He won't get it because he is a guard, but he has been that dominate.

Disappointment -  WR group, in particular Gmo.   I thought, the way he started last year, that he would break out this year and be a legit #2.    Add in MVS being a disappointment and this group is not where we all hoped it would be.   Gute drafted 3 WR's in his first draft and it's possible he missed on all 3.

Biggest surprise for me has been Elgton Jenkins. I expected him to be a good player, but he stepped and immediately looked like a seasoned vet. Quenton Nelson's rookie season got a lot of praise, deservedly so, but Jenkins is putting on a clinic on a weekly basis and getting almost no recognition in the media.

Honorably mentions would be Aaron Jones blocking, Dean Lowry's pass rush skills, Jimmy Graham's mid-season blocking, and MLF's performance changing the culture.

Biggest disappointment is easily the regression of our WR group outside of Adams. They've all been good at times and downright awful at times. If Allison and MVS had taken that leap in performance, especially with Adams being out, I think this team would have been in fewer close calls. Kumerow and Lazard are good #3-4 options at WR, but the lack of a true threat at #2 is disappointing.

Dishonorable mentions would be Blake Martinez's performance in all areas except racking up Tackle numbers, CB groups inability to put together a consistent 60 minutes, and Sean Mangina's ST groups who are just awful outside of Crosby and occasionally Opie.

I really wish they would've tried to trade him considering he may have had more "potential" value.  Maybe they did and every other team said, "Nah, we know this kid blows".

1 loss to an AFC team that was basically meaningless. They're 3-1 vs. the AFC this year. It ain't fantasy football.

Disappointed with Jimmy Graham but father time is undefeated.

Disappointed explosive plays allowed by defense. Far too many.

Disappointed with ST's. Pisses me off how bad they are. That needs to be fixed like yesterday. But maybe Tremon Smith will bust one. He had an ok return vs. Carolina.

Shocking is the quality of the RB's. They have both improved immensely but maybe it was McVince not allowing them to show their stuff.

Super excited about the free agent additions they are all solid to great. No busts.

Just kind of meh on Rodgers. Has had some amazing games but been slightly inconsistent. However he's still amazing at NOT turning the ball over and that will be key versus the Niners.

Amazed with the draft class. These rookies are developing way faster than I thought they could.

Well, I cannot say GMO is one of my biggest disappointments because I had always thought he was overrated.  I was hoping for better play from MVS - his combination of size and speed is just too good for me to give up on him at this time.  I am still hopeful.

I thought the o-line and our defensive backfield would be better.  ST is a fking joke.

Very impressed with the running backs!!!  Like to see more use of them.

Okay that lack of effort in San Diego better not show up in San Francisco errr...I mean, Santa Clara this weekend; otherwise, I will be the BIGGEST whiner in the game thread .  I have too much riding on this game here in Humboldt, where I am surrounded by 49ers fans.   I can handle a close game, but not an ass whoopin'.   Go PACK!!!

I think once Rodgers gets some legit receivers outside of Adams he will be un-meh'd.

^This^

I think if the offense gets better weapons at TE and another WR I think AR would be back to himself quickly.  I think there is potential there with the young receivers but I think the offense needs someone who is at least close to Adams in talent.

I still think Special Teams is as much the fault of talent as anything. The core special teamers are usually the backups, and white Gutekunst has been rebuilding the roster, the depth isn't there yet. Burks is probably their best special teamer, but guys like Josh Jones and Josh Jackson should have been core guys as well.

I guess you were too young to see John Brockington as a rookie.   That guy could tote the rock.
