Stayed in the game, but Purdue hits two back to back 3s with about 1 minute left to put it away.
Hope they beat Rutgers this weekend, or they could be looking at an 0-6 Big Ten start. After Rutgers, 2 of the next 4 games are against top 4 teams (Maryland and MSU) in the country and the other two are at NW and at Indiana (combined 22-4).
Would have been neat to knock them off.....but not happening, and it's going to be a long season for Bucky.....now, if IOWA could knock off Michigan State.....it would be an a w e s o m e start to the big 10 season.
I feel sorry for Gard. This is not a good situation to start your coaching career. What sucks for him is that if Hayes comes back next year, the Badgers will actually be set up to be pretty good. Every player on the roster will be back next year. The next coach will look good after Gard does all the hard work this year.

Just finished watching the Purdue game. Going to be a long season, does Barry keep Gard IF the team stumbles? I get the idea that Bo and Gard did a end run around Barry, forcing him to appoint Gard. Bo did Gard no favor if there was not something from Barry as to his long term future.
I hope it does not come down to won loss record. Bo may not have gotten this young team any more wins. It should come down to how much the team improves. That does not necessarily mean wins. Take last night, if Badgers hit their 3's under 2 minutes the game could have gone into overtime. Instead they miss and the game was gone.
