PLEASE.

Keep personal politics out of this. For those living on the border of Minny, I hope this bill passes for you all. It would pretty damn cool not to be forced to watch the empty trophy case every Sunday:

U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin has introduced a bill that would ensure Green Bay Packers games would be broadcast across the entire state.

The bill, affectionately titled the Go Pack Go Act, would directly affect 13 border counties that are designated as out-of-state television markets.

I've been hoping this would happen! Here's hoping that the bill advances. Maybe Brewers and Bucks games will be next. I think that all that Comcast in the Twin Cities needs to do is to add Fox Sports Wisconsin to their lineup.

Well, for the Brewers and Bucks FS Wisconsin would be sufficient.  But for games on broadcast TV it's rather more complicated.  Can't go on the .1 channel because the Viking fans would be pissed off, and lots of cable systems don't carry the digital sub-channels.

Oh that is absolutely true and no one should have to endure that.  If you think that is bad where I live all I get is the Browns and Bengals.

It would be easier for DTV to allow the home state residents to tune in to the Sunday ticket channel carrying their home team or allow it to be streamed.  I'm not sure how a WI politician can force an out of state TV station to show anything.

Especially the Twin Cities market.  Maybe she's trolling Minnesota members of congress.

Comcast in the Twin Cities has an open slot in their cable line up from when Esquire channel went defunct. Put Fox Sports Wisconsin there and make those of us along the Minnesota-Wisconsin border happy again. Who knows, I may even support their advertisers.  They can show the Packer games that are scheduled to be aired on CBS when the vikings are on Fox at the same time and then have the Packers' game on Fox Sports Wisconsin if the vikings and Packers are both on Fox at the same time.  I remember the days when the vikings games were blacked out due to them not selling out their games because Pillsbury would not buy up the remaining tickets. They were forced to show the Packer's game by the network, but would break into the Packers broadcast with a vikings update every so often. They just gotta be pests. They'd also make Packers fans buy tickets to other vikings games during the season so those games wouldn't be blacked out. Pathetic!

Really skeptical anything will ever come of it, but not a bad move to make when you're up for reelection.

This is exactly why she introduced this bill. This has been attempted before several times and was shot down each time. The bar owners in western Wisconsin love things as they are, though.........

I am surprised any human being could maintain sanity and hope after watching that Browns/Bengals level of ineptitude every Sunday.  At least when you do get the rare chance to watch the Packers it restores some level of positivity to your life.

Forced?..There are many options for folks,  the ticket, bars, streaming, mooching off friends or relatives, etc.   I haven't lived in Wisconsin in for 40 years, 30 of them in the Twin Cities and I have missed very few games in all those years.  The TV map comes out on Wednesday that determines if the Packers are on your local channel, if they are you watch at home, if not either listen on radio or make a plan to see the game.....I do it every week, not hard at all.

Stop whining.

I was a little p-boi when this happened, but I remember my Dad getting so pissed when games in Milwaukee in the 80's (we lived in the metro area) wouldn't get sold out at the old County Stadium and therefore the Packers game would be blacked out here.

For Lambeau, that hasn't been an issue for decades now.

I think the NFL got rid of that rule now, yes? Or do markets like Jacksonville (where no one would go to games in the recent past) still enforce it?
