Lunardi  has the Badgers in the dance as of todays updated brackets.   He has them as a 9 seed playing Colorado in Des Moines.  Winner would probably get Kansas who is  a #1.

Other BIGTEN teams:

Maryland #2

Michigan  #8

Purdon't  #5

MSU  #3

Indiana #6

Iowa #2

In his latest Lunardi has the Badgers as an 8 and going to Oklahoma City to play U Conn.  Winner would get most likely Oklahoma.  Ouch.

Meanwhile, Si has Bucky as a 9 in the East vs. Texas Tech.  Winner would most likely get Villanova.  Double ouch.

Will the Big Ten send 8 teams or will there be someone left out, meaning Michigan, Purdon't or Wisconsin?

I wonder how many people don't realize the Badgers are 4 points away from being tied for the Big Ten lead?  That's right 4 points, a 1 point loss to Indiana and a last second 3 point shot by Maryland.

Don't even try and tell me this team isn't a NCAA because of losses to Western Illinois and UW-Milwaukee.  Which by the way were a total of 3 points.

It's good to be the underdog once in a while.  I like it this season.  Unfortunately, now with the Iowa road win, we are nobody's underdog.  The nation is just finding out how tough the Badgers really are.  We have a solid 9 man rotation...you just don't know which 5 will be used in critical situations and who will step up and have  monster game.  Kudos to Vito!  I was writing him off after the first part of the season....but now...I think he's the MVP...the "glue" that keeps the team together and gets them back into the game..whether it's a rebound, a steal, a dunk, or a sick trey in a critical time....he just gets the job done and brings up the level of play in everyone!

The only thing I would want him to change is his last name...for crying out loud...with a name like "Vito", you'd think his last name would be Corleone.

Hayes and Koenig stepping up last night in the upset of Idiots Out Walking Around. Showalter with the lockdown D of Jok in the second half (and a few timely baskets), Hayes made Uthoff a perimeter big which limited his effectiveness, and while Happ struggled with that Berry kid or whatever, he played huge down the stretch when he had 4 fouls. Iowa got a good taste of Badger defensive tenacity... and crumbled down the stretch.

Only complaint I have is the free throw shooting- 3 key one on ones they missed the front end in the final 2 minutes when they could have gotten be for the kill. They're a tourney team now guaranteed- so come tournament time you gotta make those foul shots...

I think this team is going on a run and will end up higher than a damn 7... with the bench gaining confidence by the game, and everyone having seen all the wrinkles that teams are going to throw at them, they're making their run now. Bad shooting is all that stands in their way. And when MSU beat them, they missed a lot of makeable looks.

Need to see Happ avoid the foul trouble. If he's getting production inside it opens all other avenues...

Ok, I don't buy the Badgers are guaranteed to be in argument.  Today, if the season was over, no doubt they would be in.  However, there are still three games left plus the B1G tourney.  Ignoring the tourney, of those three games, they will be favored in two of them.  If they lose all three (and it would be totally unexpected, but so was winning 9 of the last 10), they would be 18-13 and not get in.  A loss to Michigan shouldn't hurt, but it is at home and Bucky should win that.  A loss at Minnesota would hurt - they shouldn't lose to them anywhere or anytime this year.  Purdue is winnable, but it is at Purdue, so a loss there wouldn't hurt them too bad.

They are playing good ball right now and I, like you, don't see that changing.  But to say they are guaranteed to be in right now isn't correct.

P S - did you see that the head coaching position has been posted?  I think that the posting at this time is a good sign for Gard.  He deserves it.

Badgers at 26th in both polls.  The only change by Lunardi is vs. Vanderbilt (10 seed) while Bucky remains a 7 seed.  Game would be at Oklahoma City.   Si has them as a 7th seed vs. Cincinnati also in Oklahoma City.

Lunardi also has Meeechigan in a play in game vs. Butler.  Winner would be an 11 seed.

Unbelievable that they have a legit shot to win the Big Ten regular season title. Win at Minnesota (likely) and at Purdue (toss up) and have Indiana lose to Maryland and Iowa and they share the title.

Latest from Lunardi has Bucky as a 6 seed playing winner of U Conn/ St. Bonanventure in Providence as part of the West Bracket.  Meanwhile SI has them as a 7 in the East playing Temple.

As for rankings AP has them at 26th.  USA Today Coaches finally has the Badgers at 25.  Iowa is still 20 and 18 respectfully.  How can they be that high yet?

Iowa sucks.  Once again they fade mightily down the stretch.   They will probably be one and done and that would surprise no one.

UWGB is in now and good for them.  They've had a really good team the last two years but haven't been able to get over the top until this year.
