Figured this needed its own thread.

Tied up 1-1 after 4. Yelich 2 for 2 with a HR. That's a good sign.

Chourio walked and stoled second base to open the game.

This is a nice anecdote, if Chourio is even half as good as the worst player on this list, I'd be thrilled.

From MLB.com

The only younger players than Chourio with an Opening Day start in the past 55 years: Robin Yount in 1974 (18 years, 201 days old) and '75 (19 years, 204 days), Ken Griffey Jr. in 1989 (19 years, 133 days) and Adrián Beltré in 1999 (19 years, 363 days).

Also..

That makes Chourio's first game historic. Chourio is one of the youngest players to debut as his team's leadoff hitter on Opening Day in modern AL/NL history. Only Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr, who was 19 years and 13 days old when he debuted for the Red Sox on Opening Day 1937, did so at a younger age.

I like it. It's about time this team shows a little fire and sticks up for themselves.  Somebody on the Brewers will probably get plunked tomorrow or Sunday.  Let's hope it's not Yelich or Contreras.

Looks like the Brewers are using a youth movement much like the Packers are.  12 of the Opening Day  Roster players saw the game as their 1st time on an Opening Day Roster.  That is almost half of the players.

Freddie Peralta went 6 innings, allowed only two base runners, 1H, 1ER and 8K. Not too shabby!

You expect Peralta to be good. It's the next 4 in the rotation that are complete unknowns: DL Hall, Colin Rea, Jakob Junis, and Joe Ross.

DL Hall has a chance to be good. He's 25 years old with some upside. I'm excited to see him pitch.

Rea, Junis, and Ross are all cheap, veteran journeymen who have never really been any good in their previous stops.

Rea is almost 34 years old and is 14-14 in his career with a 4.74 ERA and 1.28 WHIP.

Junis is 31 years old with a 4.64 career ERA and a WHIP of 1.34 and a career record of 38-45.

Ross is almost 31 and is 26-28 with a 4.26 ERA in his career.

If you had one of those 3 as your 5th starter or had them in long relief you'd be OK. Instead, they are 60% of the Brewers rotation.

I'd rather have some of the younger pitchers come up and get some experience than see these guys struggle to keep their ERAs under 5 this year.
