Loss Friday 4-2.   Crew leading 2-1 going into bottom of 8.  Ashby loads the bases but gets an out. In comes Boxberger and in 6 pitches it is now 4-2.  I get the whole not using Hader until the 9th, but in this case if you use him in the 8th maybe he slams the door.  And he still could have pitched the 9th.  Now I like Boxberger, he has pitched real good so far this season. And maybe it is just me but he seems to pitch better when he starts an inning clean.  Sometimes I just wonder about CC decisions sometimes.

So today Houser pitches and gives up a run in the 1st and 2 in the 3rd.  But the Brewers string together hits by Renfroe, Cain, Peterson, Adames and Yelich and tie it 3-3.  Then when Yelich steals 2nd Adames steals home and the Crew leaad 4-3.   Renfroe then solso homers in the 6th.   Gott, Williams and Hader hold Phillies scoreless in the 7th, 8th and 9 and get the victory.

Rubber game is Sunday Night Baseball.  Lauer (1-3)  3.48 ERA goes for the Brewers, Aaron Nola ( 1-2 ) 5.52 ERA for the Phillies.

If we’re too cowardly to call out incompetence if the incompetent person  is a minority, I feel bad for competent minority folks…they all get reduced.

Your whole point is accurate without being about minorities.  Your assumption, that Angel keeps his job because he is a minority, doesn’t hold a lot of water when MLB doesn’t fire any umps for poor performance.  The last guy fired was 2012 and that was for failing a drug test.  MLB tarnishes it’s product keeping Angel around, but this seems more like a shitty system than a skin color issue.

in other news, Angel will be voicing β€œGermanicus” in Disneys animated remake of β€œCaligula β€œ

Yet Angel sued (and lost) MLB for racial discrimination. He brought race into the equation, not me. He tried to hide his incompetence behind the race card.

Now pardon me, I’m going to Disney.

In the last two games, Milwaukee’s starters Eric Lauer and Corbin Burnes have thrown a combined 12 2/3 innings, allowing 7 hits and three walks. They didn’t surrender a single run, while striking out 24.

And neither got the win. Milwaukee’s offense scored 3 runs on 8 hits in the two games.

Offense is way down across the Majors, but Milwaukee’s bats have been utterly putrid, thus far. Coming into today’s game, here were Milwaukee’s NL rankings (of 15 teams):

Runs: 13th (54 in 16 games).
OPS: 14th (.609)
AVG: 13th (.204 team AVG)

Milwaukee’s team OPS+ is 78. Our OPS is 22% below National League average.
