I'm fortunate enough to score some corporate swag seats at Fenway this afternoon. The game starts at 2:05 eastern, but the SAWXS! want everyone in their seats by 12:50. (So, that means folks are probably already slamming pitchers of Bud Lite as I write this. The news had some idiot standing in line - with ticket in hand - at 8pm last night.) They have their ring ceremony, a moment of silence for two firefighters who perished last week, flag draping over the green monster, a marathon bombing victim throwing out the first pitch, military helicopter fly over, and, just cus nothing else is happening, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Drop Kick Murphys will be doing the national anthem (and probably Shipping Up to Boston too).
So, the Red Soxs, wearing special gold lined unis and hats with World Series champs hats, might be a touch pumped up today. I'll give a full report on my attempts to have my vintage Brewers 1987 hat survive unscathed later. (and I'll let you know how warm the $10.50 beers are as well.)
