Broadcast videotape of SB I discovered

Holy Moses.

The NFL, what a bunch of cheap asses. Offered $30,000 and tried to say "It's ours!"

You gotta be kidding me. That tape is worth 7 figures and the NFL knows it. Pay the man! So we all can see it.

I wonder if the tape includes the copyright statement they always issue before each game now.

"This broadcast is the property of the NFL. Any rebroadcast, retransmission or other use of this broadcast without the written consent of the NFL is prohibited."

If that's on the tape, it's pretty clear cut as to the legal ownership.

If that statement was on the tape then the NFL wouldn't have offered any money.

It's the ONLY tape in existence. The NFL themselves don't even have a copy. That tape is gold & diamonds and the guy that owns it, knows it. So does the NFL.

If I owned that tape, I assure you I'd extract 7 figures out the NFL.

I'd even upgrade x4.

Holy God, Boris, I want to see that game!

Totally stunned that someone found this 'Holy Grail.' Actually, I'd have bet more money on finding the actual Holy Grail than this! Come on, NFL. Dig under the couch cushions and pay the man! His dad was the only one smart enough to tape the thing, copyright or not! For that kind of foresight, he should get it if nothing else!

I am really surprised. I had no idea the NFL did not have a copy of this game---I assumed thay had complete footage of every big game since the mid 50's....using the tape again---that is too funny.

They have film (celluloid) footage of every game probably going back to the '30s, but telecast video of games prior to the late '70s is extremely rare. In fact, there are only about half a dozen NFL games prior to 1970 for which the full telecast video has survived. The oldest full NFL telecast I know of is the 1961 Packers-Giants championship game.
