I thought the Bronco's had pulled away enough with the FG to make it 26-10.

Now it's 26-16 with a little over 3 minutes to go....Cheatriots with 3 Time Outs left, however.

I've seen stupider stuff happen.

Stupidest tradition in sports, do MLB's shake, conerbacks, left tackles?

From TMQ:

Stats of the Championships No. 1: Before Spygate, Bill Belichick's Patriots were 12-2 in the playoffs and 3-0 in the Super Bowl. Since the taping scheme was discovered, they are 6-6 in the postseason and 0-2 in the Super Bowl.

Stats of the Championships No. 9: In the 2010 regular season, the Patriots averaged 32.4 points; they scored 21 points in their playoff loss. In the 2011 regular season, the Patriots averaged 32.1 points; they scored 17 points in their playoff loss. In the 2012 regular season, the Patriots averaged 34.8 points; they scored 13 points in their playoff loss. In the 2013 regular season, the Patriots averaged 27.8 points; they scored 16 points in their playoff loss.

Curious if scoring in general goes down in the playoff.

hypothesis- less flags thrown on the defenses in playoffs makes for lower scoring in general.

Someone get on this for me.

Scoring goes down in the playoffs because you are playing against the better teams and presumably the better defenses in the NFL.

The Packers scored well below their season average in their playoff loss as well.

So let's say team A & team B played in the regular season, team A scored 35 on team B. Now the same two teams meet in the playoffs but team A wont score 35 because team B has a better D now because they're in the post season.

Gotcha.

well, wouldn't the same hold true (and even things out) that the better team offenses are in the play offs?

Unless the assumption is that defense trumps offense in terms of making to the play-offs, but I don't think that is true (again, speculating).
