Another thing. How is the Denver field any different than what was in Wahington last week? That close up of the measurement looked like nothing but dirt to me. I didn't asee any grass at all. The whole area between the hash marks is brown, not green like grass would be.

Not sure but we have had no rain or snow (significant that is) for 6 months or so. I would guess the field is at least stable where I think DC had quite a bit of precip causing the field to be a mess. By the way it looks to be holding up.
Just a thought.
