Robin Lopez starts in place of Brook.
Is Doc giving up right away? Robin was getting roasted by G league players in the preseason.

Mavs open up 5 for 5 from three in the first 4 minutes.
Now Mavs are 7 for 9 from three. Most have been wide open.
Mavs have 25 points in less than 5 minutes.
This is an embarrassing start.

44-20.
So, how much rope does Jon Horst have at this point? Obviously, he's not going anywhere this year, but if the Bucks don't improve under Rivers next year, you would think it would be time to think about moving on from Horst.
The Bucks have all been terrible, but Middleton has been particularly atrocious.
One of these days, Alice, the Bucks are going to start winning
Bucks go 15-0 in the last two minutes of the half. Only a 5 point deficit.
Middleton, Beasley, and Connaughton are 4 for 18 from the floor.

I think it's going to take about 5-6 weeks to see what Rivers can do. They basically are starting over in terms of schemes and having to play other teams on the fly
Bucks up 78-75
Great win tonight. Doc switched up the defense and blitzed the ball out of Doncic's hands enough to get ahead.
That’s a good comeback, and on the road, too.
In watching the full game highlights this was one of the better games I’ve seen Giannis play offensively. He was doing it all - jumpers, floaters, dunks, layups and passing to the open guy. When he’s playing like that there’s literally nothing you can do.
One thing I also noticed is the Bucks did a bit more trapping and that generated some Dallas turnovers. The Mavericks looked surprised at times by that approach and they aren’t a team that turns it over much. Not that this is the silver bullet going forward, but it shows that Doc is willing to mix some things up. Under Griffin, this would have been another blowout loss.
One other observation and maybe a question is Pat Connaughton done? He’s been running on fumes for months it seems and I’m sorry I’d rather see Jackson Jr out there than Pat C playing nearly 20 minutes, looking disinterested on D, and shooting like 1-6 from 3. It seems like all of his other numbers have trended downward - rebounding, assists, and turnovers are up.
If you are using him as a 3pt guy I’d rather they play AJ Green. He’s a much better shooter and if he doesn’t have to defend or rebound that’s an easy trade out option.
Why can't Jackson Jr get on the floor?? What is he doing That's so wrong

Prefacing this comment about Connaughton by saying that he's a tremendous overall athlete, a star in both baseball and basketball in college. But in terms of NBA basketball, he was borderline in terms of foot speed.
Connaughton was right on the border of having enough athleticism to be playable in crunch time against good teams. If guys with ultra-elite foot speed lose 10% of that, they are still elite. If guys with borderline foot speed lose 10% they become targets for opposing offenses (and Connaughton was already that 3 years ago).
That's where Connaughton is right now. He knows exactly what to do and is in the right place. But he gets attacked on penetration by guards and he gets blown by way too often now. He's actually shooting 37% from three this year, but it doesn't seem like that.
The question is whether Green is even worse than the 31 year old version of Connaughton in holding up on defense. I'm not sure he can.
Jackson Jr. can't shoot. He's at a decent percentage, but he has one of the most awkward looking shots you'll see.
