Bucks down 11-10 to start.
Vucevic has 10 points on two wide-open 3s. Are they actually going to make an adjustment to prevent Orlando's best player from shooting wide open 3s?

And another wide open off of one pass.
Itβs getting frustrating this βsame thing different gameβ bullshit...
Getting good looks... just not making them.
Last 2 minutes with Thanasis, Portis, DDV, Connaughton, and Augustin. WHY?
Fucking Vucevic gets whatever he wants against the Bucks.

Of course, I type that and they go 7-0 and Thanasis played great.
DD playing good ball tonight. Heads up on both ends.
Giannis needs to sharpen his play. Lackadaisical pass costs them a chance to build the lead.

Yeah, he was active, and he eurosteps into a left hand scoop. WTF was that?
Brook Lopez has missed his last 14 3s.
That just pisses me off... Vucevic gets an open fucking 3 at the end of the half.π€¬π€¬π€¬π€¬

Most of the looks are open, but when you donβt have it just fucking pass the ball and set a fucking pick.
Bucks up 9 at the half.
Vucevic with 19, albeit on 17 shots.
I wish the Bucks would have had this version of Bobby Portis last year instead of Marvin Williams.
Lopez needs to be benched if he plays off Vucevic one more time...
Thatβs fucking ridiculous. Giannis gets that charge 2-3 times a game.
Middleton has been terrible tonight.
Giannis with 4 fouls.
Not a graceful finish to the 3rd quarter...
Lead down to 4.
Giannis with another crappy game at the line (4 for 7)
Giannis with 5 fouls.
Only a 4 point lead. This could be a loss.
They call the weakest bullshit on Giannis...
Giannis has 5 fouls and only one was challenging a shot.
A charge. A push in the back on a rebound that went out of bounds. A couple of other fouls on the ball.
Portis lighting shit up- bring Lopez off the bench.
Well, you get a few to go in and you have 15-2 run... with Giannis and Holiday on the bench.
Bucks go up on a run. Now up 15.
All about shot selection and rhythm. 17-2...
22-2... and a poor shot by DD breaks the streak.
How is that not a flagrant foul???
Bucks up 31-10 in the fourth Q...

I guess the key was to get Giannis on the bench so the Bucks could go on a mega-run
Well, weβll take that all day. Bench got hot. Bucks drop some excellent, active defense forces 15 steals and blocked 7 shots.
This was an important win to get to 7-4. If they take care of business against Detroit on Wednesday, they can be 8-4 going into a Dallas, Brooklyn, LA Lakers 3 game stretch. If they were .500 going into that 3 game stretch things could have gotten a little uncomfortable.
We are spoiled at this point. Bucks win by 21 and we are bitching and moaning the whole game. Just like the NFL, just watch some opposing teams shit the bed against lesser competition and it will make you feel a little better.
The Bucks blew a 12 point lead- then dropped a hammer on them in the 4th without Giannis. Bench appears to have taken the collapse against Utah to heart. 23 points against the Cavs, 53 tonight. Gonna need that if theyβre going to have a claim at the top of the East.
Was nice to see them go on a run in the 4Q. Portis and Forbes played really well.
Lopez, Holiday, and DDV didnβt play particularly well on offense and Giannis sat a long time yet still won by 20+
Portis is looking like a really nice addition. The rest of the bench looks pretty inconsistent right now, Forbes is really up and down and DJA has had some ugly moments. It's early so hopefully just need time to sort their roles.
George Hill really was a fantastic bench player last year pre-bubble.
Maybe the Augustine/Forbes combo can make up for it but so far theyβve fallen a little short of how great Hill really was in his limited stints last year.
That said, even Hill was shaky when he first joined the Bucks in Spring 2019, it wasnβt until the 2019 playoffs that he really got comfortable.

The Bucks are better in their starting lineup and in the stretch 4 role off the bench than they were last year.
DDV gives them a lot more flexibility in the starting 5 than Matthews did. If Matthews didn't hit from 3, he was a complete liability on offense.
Holiday is obviously an upgrade over Bledsoe.
Portis has been an upgrade over the minutes last year from Marvin Williams/Ilyasova.
They have to sort two things out as they go. They need an 8 man rotation for the playoffs and the first 6 are obvious (the starters plus Portis). I think Connaughton is fine as your 8th/9th guy, but not as your first guard off the bench.
So who settles into the George Hill role as the first guard off the bench. Hill was perfect for that since he was a very good defender who could hit 3s. Forbes and Augustin can hit 3s but are really weak defensively (B-grade offense, D-grade defense). Craig is probably an even better defender than Hill, but he's a 32% career 3 point shooter (A-grade defense, D-grade offense). Is the answer really Pat Connaughton (C-grade offense, C-grade defense)? He's the best combination even though he's not great at either side of the ball.
There is also the very specific issue of who plays the backup 5 if the Bucks end up in a playoff series against the Sixers. Last year, Robin Lopez was basically on the roster for this specific purpose. They have no answer to this right now other than putting Giannis on Embiid which is an issue in terms of foul trouble. I don't think Portis can impede Embiid much. Andre Drummond ate them alive and Embiid is a much better version of Drummond with range out to the 3 point line.

I just posted the same thoughts simultaneously. Augustin/Forbes liabilities on defense are a real issue.
