Does anybody consider this to be a "Border Battle?" I know the Packers- vikings games and the Badgers-Gopher games are. Not so sure about NBA games here.

We join the game, in progress, and the sore is 7-5, Milwaukee.
Bucks on the court are: Giannis, Lopez, Allen, Carter and Holiday. Minnesota has Towns, Gobert, Edwards, McDaniels and Russell.
Portis in for Lopez.
Bucks playing very well so far.

Yes. They are hitting their threes.
Holiday has been on fire to start the season.
Up 8 after one. They let KAT get going a bit with Giannis sitting, but otherwise great defense.
34-26, Bucks at the end of the 1st Quarter.
Beauchamp hits a 3!
Nice to see the rook hit a 3. Maybe Nwora will take notes.

Nwora is being asked to expand his game and see if he can be more than just a spot up shooter. Beauchamp runs to the corner and plays a PJ Tucker role.
They have to quit having G. Allen try to create offense off the dribble. He's a turnover machine in that role.
Bucks starting to fade a little.

Hit 5 of their first 6 threes, and then 3 of the next 10.
Beauchamp with another 3.
Beauchamp looking comfortable out there.
61-54 Bucks at the half.
Bad execution to give up that corner 3 after a made FT in less than 5 seconds.
Bucks up 7 at the half.
Interesting that Beauchamp got as many minutes as he did. They must see something they like in him.
Bucks picking it up again. Holiday making up for the absence of Middleton.
Gobert tries a 3, with predictable results.
Bucks up 18. This ones almost done.
Beauchamp ends with with 14 points, six boards, nice defense and runs in transition. Bumping Nwora out of the rotation? Giannis clearly looking to build up the young manâs confidence.
Never can have enough good wing defenders, keep it up rook!
Score not indicative of the absolute beatdown by the Bucks. The game was over midway through the 3Q.
Russell and Edwards are really good scorers but Carter, Holiday, Matthews and Hill were harassing them most of the night and it showed. Those two were like 15-40 from the field.
Can we also finally proclaim Gobert is the most overrated player in the league? Yes he had 13 boards, but 7 points? If you asked me if I wanted Lopez or Gobert for the same salary Iâd take Lopez. Sure, heâs a good defender in the paint but he canât shoot and canât go out and even attempt to defend the perimeter.
Towns is also an enigma. Both he and Embiid spend way too much time camping out by the 3pt line despite having the ability to go to the hoop and draw fouls or convert easy buckets. Heâs also a terrible defender.
I realize if you are the Wolves you need to take a big swing but they didnât need Gobert. They needed a couple of Wes Matthews type guys that can hit an outside shot but more importantly can defend. That team cannot defend a lick and they will not be able to beat the better teams in the league consistently unless they try to outscore them and hope Edwards and Towns go crazy from 3.
One last point - on Beauchamp now you see why they are excited about him. He plays with non stop effort and if he can shoot a respectable % from 3 heâll be getting minutes. Heâs such a versatile defender and with his length he will be able to challenge shots and disrupt passing lanes. Personally, Iâd like to see him play more in the regular season to allow them to rest Matthews and Hill a little more. They will need those two guys come postseason but I imagine when Pat C returns heâll get some of their minutes as well.
Just an fyi, Gobert went into the h & s protocols today. Hopefully he didnt pass anything on to the Bucks players.
I think Beauchamp is likely to take the Nwora minutes.
As Tschmack says, Gobert would be great as a guy making 12-13 million a year, but he's owed another 130 million for the three years after this.
Great game in Minny overall, but Giannis needs to clean up the FTs. 10 for 20 from the line is going to start to invite Hack-a-Giannis games. He doesn't have to be 80%, but he has to be around 65-70% consistently.
