Speculation that Lopez could opt out to play for Kidd again. He would be an excellent addition to a team lacking offense.

This is exactly why Kidd would be a terrible GM.
Wants his guys only.
This guy is a walking injury - and wants way too much cash. Not worth it.
If they can add Lopez and subtract those two, you have a better front line adding Parker and they don't lose any defense (since neither player is a great defender anyway. I hope Parker spends the entire summer shooting so they can get back to spreading the floor and using the unselfish play they went 30-23 with. Without the guys that can hit those shots, they'll still have trouble scoring.
A max deal this summer might look good in 2-3 years when the salary cap skyrockets.
Not sure Lopez is a guy that is worth the money he'll get, but he'll be solid addition and fill a gaping hole.
However, the biggest hole has to be filled from within. The difference in the Bucks being a 50+ win team and perennially being on the fringe of the lottery will be whether Giannis and MCW can ever consistently knock down jump shots. If Giannis can hit 15 footers consistently he'll be a star. If he develops respectable 3 point range he'll be a superstar. MCW doesn't have quite as big a ceiling but he is such a poor outside shooter right now that it just kills their offensive spacing when he is off the ball.
I also wouldn't discount the addition of Vaughn and Vasquez. Both guys can flat out shoot the ball and that will help.
Giannis took a step forward this season in terms of improving his all around game and I expect he will take another step this year. If he continues to work on his shot there is no reason he can't be a top 10 player in this league. He's that good.
The real wild card is MCW. The guy is such a unique talent and can be a real difference maker but he has to be able to make shots more consistently. I am hoping another offseason will get him headed in the right direction.
I saw the Bucks were looking at Jordan from the Clippers as well. Personally, I think he's a better fit than Lopez but either guy would be a major upgrade over Pachulia and they need someone that can improve their rebounding and interior defense. That's what is so disappointing about Larry Sanders. He was the right fit but they had to cut him loose for a number of reasons.
I assumed they dumped Illysova so they could have the cash to buy a guy like Jordan (really, the one big money guy out there that I would imagine makes sense), which why I was a little baffled by taking on Grieve's contract.
I wouldn't mind a max contract for Lopez, Music City. The guy is that good offensively. There is a trade off with him, in that he is not the best rebounder, averaging little more than 7 per game, and not the best defender, just under 2 blocks per game, but he is certainly not bad at either. There are always trade offs with players.
He hit 80% from the FT line, which I really like, and he's a prolific scorer in the post at 18 pts per game. I would love to see a player like him in the post in Milwaukee. It has been a while since we had that.
Figure, he scores almost as much as Bob Lanier did for his career, actually way more than he did with Milwaukee back in the day (around 13 pts per game through 5 years '79-84), and blocks a little more on average. We could use that again!
Bring on Brook Lopez, please!!! Hell yeah!

Kidd clearly wanted a PG who could step in and distribute the ball on the level he likes, plus the guy can drain it. This NBA we are in today benefits greatly with 2 PGs on the floor, and most teams have 3.
I'm glad they added someone with his size, 6-6 200 at the point, just like MCW really, which will help on D. Former ACC Player of the Year 2010 and Bob Cousy Award Winner 2010. This guy knows how to ball from the point. Plus he's a career 42+% shooter from the floor, 38% from 3PT land. I like the trade quite a lot. 2 very important needs addressed with the adds of Vaughn and Vasquez: scoring from PG and SG. BIG scoring.
Faucet switched to "ON." Especially so if we add Lopez! This could be a very high scoring Bucks team, one that is already very sound defensively, if they pull that one off, and I don't see them adding Lopez without a max deal. Add him. We got the Bucks!
Adding Lopez would be a great counter to anything Minnesota, Chicago or Cleveland does this offseason, and at least two of those teams got better. With Lopez we would be able to legitimately compete for the East, and a title if all goes well. We have that much talent. I hope they sign him.
I guess it comes down to needing a scorer who doesn't rebound, or a rebounder who doesn't score. Regardless, I would rather go after the guy who is never hurt (Jordan) over the guy who has been hurt quite a bit (Lopez).
Couldn't be two different free throw shooters though
Well, and he was only injured in 2 of his 7 seasons in the league. That's not bad. Plus, he rebounds, just not at a top, double digit rate. We have players who can board, and if the shots are going in, the offensive glass becomes less of an issue on the stat line.
Brook Lopez's total rebounds average per game is 2 more than Larry Sanders'. Lopez blocked 1.7 shots per game, Sanders 1.8 per game.
As for the FTs, yeah, I want good ones on this Bucks team. Lopez is great.
Hell, after looking all of that up, I like Lopez even more!!! Bring him on!
Well, and he was only injured in 2 of his 7 seasons in the league.
Or, he's missed half of his games the last 4 years. That is my biggest concern about that max money. If he can stay healthy and he fits Kidd's design, it could be a great signing.
Another good option would be Tyson Chandler. He's not the athlete that Jordan is or a low post scoring threat like Lopez but he's a vet that is likely cheaper than either guy and he can rebound which is what they really need.
True dat, Tschmack.
Lopez will cost a ton, and may be tough to sign just from a pure $ perspective. Chandler has about 3 good years left on him, will come far cheaper, knows Kidd as well or better, and may give us some great value there. He's a good Center. No doubt.
I'm thinking Lopez might be good for the long haul though. I wonder if we can somehow add them both? Work some trades to clear more space? Zsa Zsa, Mayo, Bayless, Dudley?
Imagine that...
Cost will be a factor. You have your young stars all a little closer to RFA- Antetokoumnpo, and Carter-Williams entering year 3 of their deals, these are going to be make or break years for them. Time to make the jump. Then if they do, they'll be looking for long term contracts, even max deals. Can't tie up too much $$$ with that not so far off.
Sure they need to pay Middleton but they are in pretty good shape after this year assuming John Hammonds doesn't do something foolish

He's a RFA, so OKC has matching rights.

Gotta think Kanter stays in OKC. He's gotta be their Top priority.
Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez, Chandler, Monroe, all rumored to have Bucks interest today.
Chandler to Suns for $52M
Knight stays in PHX for $70M
Middleton staying in MKE, $70M
Love and Thompson staying in CLE for $109m and $80M respectively
Butler staying in CHI for $95M
The Eyebrow gets $145M...
Based on what Knight, Middleton and Thompson are getting, The Eyebrow is underpaid.
Robin Lopez could be a great player on the Bucks. His game is big defense. Lots of blocks. More ORBs than DRBs. Great unselfish player who does the dirty work on both ends of the floor. Still, a decent scorer in the paint and makes his FTs. Has the size to compete at 7-0 255.
Greg Monroe could be good for Milwaukee too. Great inside game, makes a lot of his buckets in the paint, good passer, good scorer, good rebounder.
Both can run the floor and match up well with what we are doing, just on different ends of the floor. Both would require near max or max contracts, which will seem paltry in two years and might be well worth it. I'm really hoping we add a high quality big here in free agency. I think either of those guys would fit the bill. One scores big time, the other defends big time.
If we can't get either signed, I wonder if we can work a trade with PHI for C/PF 6-11 228 Nerlens Noel? They have 6 Centers and could use another PG, of which we have 5.
Looks like Greg Monroe has scheduled a FA visit with the Bucks along with the Lakers, Knicks and Trailblazers.
Looks like they they just finished meeting with Robin Lopez too! https://mobile.twitter.com/dal...s/616361072090574849
Hopefully, Milwaukee signs one of them. That would be awesome.
FYI....that was all bull**** from lame media reports. As you know by now, Draymond re-upped with GS for $85 million
At those prices LeBron should be making $35MM per season!!
Scary : Marc Stein on Mike and Mike saying that we really wanted Chandler and we set his contract and Phoenix matched our offer.
Glad Phoenix matched if that's true.
Hope Monroe isn't using Bucks to leverage a deal with Knicks. he looks more like a 4 defensively, but would bring some much needed offense to the Bucks. ( good passer too)
Holy **** !!! :
Free agent Greg Monroe will sign a maximum contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, league source tells Yahoo Sports.
Whoa.
Monroe has all the tools to be a great player. If Kidd can get him to play team ball rather than an insistence on touches/shots, he is a extremely solid addition.
EDIT: Not quite a max deal.
@WojYahooNBA: Greg Monroe will sign a three-year, $50M deal with the Bucks, including the player option on the final year, sources tell Yahoo.
