Holiday has not made the trip to Phoenix, and it is suspected he’s out for at least the next 10 days in COVID protocol. Not sure why they’re being so coy about confirming that he tested positive- but his wife is a cancer survivor so the main thing for him is he follow the process and not expose his family or the rest of the team.
Meanwhile, the Suns have won 3 straight and boast one of the league’s better statistical defenses. Much of that is due to pace- they’re the 4th slowest in the NBA at 101.3 possessions/game (which undoubtedly is attributable to Chris Paul). Nonetheless, they have 7 different guys averaging in double-figures and average almost 26 assists/game as a team, which considering the pace is remarkable.
Dario Saric is having a good comeback year. Ayton is a load, and Bridges is one of the most exciting athletes in the NBA. And of course Booker and Paul in the backcourt. This will be a tough game without Holiday... contrasting styles and they have size and scoring.
