I know it's Detroit, but it's still going to be a problem for the Bucks with this injury list. DDV is obviously still out and now Giannis and Grayson Allen show up as probable with knee soreness.

Middleton is now listed as being in the health and safety protocols. Whatever that means?

Giannis is being forced to learn to play differently… mixed results, really. The turnovers are up a lot because he’s being forced to be smarter with the ball.

He's playing with a crappy group around him right now. Guys are missing wide open 3-point shots over and over.

Out for 6 games. They really need Holiday back if Middleton is going to be gone.

If Middleton does not have significant symptoms, it might be good to get him some rest after the short offseason. But they can't be without him and Holiday as they don't have anyone else that can generate their own offense other than Giannis.

Thanasis is just never going to be a legitimate player in the NBA. The decision making will simply never be there…

I think he can contribute in a limited PJ Tucker-like role. Don't dribble. Cut to the basket, crash the boards, play physical defense.

But you are right, as soon as he dribbles he turns into a guy that would be hard pressed to make a G league roster.

Watching Luke Garza guarding Giannis is something.

Also, it's amazing how bad Cade Cunningham looks. I know he's coming back from some ankle problems, but he's failed to draw iron on several shots tonight. If you didn't know he was the top pick, you'd think he was a two-way player. This is his second game and he's 3 for 22 from the floor and 0 for 14 from three. He doesn't look to be an explosive athlete at all.

It’s not like Detroit hasn’t whiffed on top draft picks before.  Darko Milicic anyone?

Barnes for Toronto is off to a fantastic start.  Mobley and Suggs look really good as well.  Green might be the best pure athlete of the group with Houston.  Wagner has looked solid for the Magic as well.   Finally, he was lost in the shuffle a bit but Josh Kiddey has been impressive for a bad OKC team.

The concern with Cunningham is that the lack of explosiveness was noted in the scouting reports. His scouting report really just sounded like he was going to be a better version of what Jordan Nwora is right now. Cunningham was a 6'6" guy who was able to physically dominate guys in college. He's not being guarded by the Brad Davidsons of the world anymore. Maybe he's just getting his legs under him, but if I'm Detroit I'm concerned I just drafted a guy who has 3rd banana/6th man ceiling written all over him.

Weaknesses

As great as Cunningham is with the ball in his hands, with a usage rate of 29 percent, we didn't get to see him play without the ball in his hands much during his one collegiate season. He is certainly an offensive initiator, but depending on the situation he is selected into, it will be interesting to see what type of damage he can do off-ball as a catch-and-shoot shooter or cutter.

He changes speeds well as a ball handler, but he's not super shifty or explosive, often relying on his size to bully his way to the basket in the NCAA. Expanding his bag of tricks as a dribbler will only help make up for what he lacks in burst.

As a defender, he will have to get quicker to keep up with some of the faster guards in the league.
