Giannis has gone for 48-15-7 and this will be a loss. He's taken 7 less shots than Embiid.

Butler, Harris, Simmons, and Redick are so much better than the Bucks #2 to #5 guys.

Giannis can't play much better than this. He's 3 for 8 from 3, 18-20 from the line, and 10-16  from 2. He should have a triple double as the other guys have probably missed 8 wide open 3s off his passes.

Actually, it's more accurate to say that almost no NBA player in history can play much better than this. He's had 31 points in the second half.

Crappy loss at home... Giannis goes for 52 but didn’t get any help.

He and DJ Wilson will really the only guys you would say played well.

Going -19 in the 12 minutes Giannis sat says a lot. They were +14 in 36 minutes with him. It will be interesting to see if Bud can afford to not play him 45 minutes a game in the playoffs.

One way to look at this is most of Phillys starters played well.  Embiid in particular played very well.

For the Bucks, Giannis was exceptional.  The rest?  Not one of them played even an average game.

If Lopez or Bledsoe or Middleton or Mirotic have a decent game it’s very possible tbe Bucks win this one.

I don’t think much changes with this game.  Philly had all of their players and they played well.  Bucks are without several guys and are thin in the backcourt and it showed.  No way Redick plays like that if Brogdon and Sterling Brown are in there.

Buds will make the adjustments and I’m not ready to panic just yet but the guys need to step up while their injured guys get healthy.

If they make 4 more threes... just 4. Many wide open looks, did everything right except make it. Often it is Brogdon that gets them out of these slumps. That’s where he’s badly missed.

Mirotic was incredibly disappointing today. They've lost 4 games since he's been here and he's 6-27 in those games (0-6 today).

He couldn't match up on anyone today.

So far, he's the guy that shoots well when it means less and struggles in pressure situations.

Middleton is guy that often struggles for an entire game and then hits some monster shots at the end of games. He's such an enigma.

The Sixers are a tough matchup for anyone. Bledsoe has a real problem against them. He's 6'1 and obviously can't guard Simmons, so his defensive strength (which is that he's one of the best on-ball PG defenders is completely negated).

Embiid is tough for anyone, but Lopez is borderline unplayable against him. I think you have to have Giannis guard him, but then there is no one to guard Simmons.

You have to punish the Sixers when their bench guys come in, but today their bench guys lit us up.

Giannis has sat for 11 minutes, Bucks -17.

Based on this +/-, if he could play a whole game, they win by 8. If he sat for the whole game, they'd lose by 70.

I want to hear from the Steve Smith's & Carlos Boozers of the world how Giannis isn't the MVP.

It's an effing joke to vote for any other player.

Bucks are a .500 club without Giannis.

After the Bucks get bounced from the playoffs this year (hopefully not first round) - they need another Superstar. Unibrow or KD or Kawhi. How about LeBron....anybody to help Giannis.

All you have to do is look at this.

https://www.foxsports.com/nba/...=ADVANCED&time=0

Giannis offensive rating is 120.0. His defensive rating is 98.8.

The Bucks as a team are at 113.5 for an offensive rating and defensive rating is 104.7.

https://www.teamrankings.com/n...possessions-per-game

These are the number of points per 100 possessions on offense and defense. That's approximately one game worth of possessions.

Actually the best fit is Klay Thompson.

It doesn't help that the Bucks ball movement was poor today.  Some of that is the absence of Brogdon and some of it was that I think Giannis lost trust in his teammates as guys just weren't hitting.

I guess my one hope is that this was just a really bad day, but truth be told, they haven't looked quite as great as they did before the All Star break.

The highlight of the night was Bledsoe winning a jump ball vs. Embiid.  That was about the only thing Embiid failed at today, he was excellent at everything except that.

Embiid was obviously great today, but he wasn't as dominant as Giannis.

Embiid was 15-31 from the field and only 4-13 from 3 and the Sixers were -6 with him on the floor.

Embiid needed 31 shots to get 40, Giannis needed 26 shots to get 52.

Bucks were outscored by the following without Giannis:

7-5 in the first without Giannis on the floor for about 4 minutes. (Connaughton 3 and Irsan 2).

15-5 in the second without him for 5 minutes. (Bledsoe 2, DJ Wilson 3).

1-0 for the last 1 minute of the 3rd.

9-4 in the 4th for 2:30. 2 FTs by Lopez and a FG by DJ Wilson. (2 Lopez FTs and a DJ Wilson 2).

In the 12 minutes without him they were outscored 32-14. They had 5 field goals.

Here's what the other players did when Giannis was sitting out: 5-20 from the floor with 6 turnovers. The other 4 starters were most of the problem. They were 1-14 with all 6 turnovers.

Bledsoe 1-5 FG with 1 turnover

Middleton 0-7 with 2 turnovers

Lopez 0-2 with 2 tunovers

Mirotic 1 turnover.

DJ Wilson 2-3 FG

Connaughton 1-1 FG

Ilyasova 1-2 FG

Hill 0-1 FG

Middleton was 0-7 from the floor with Giannis out and 8-11 with Giannis.

Bledsoe was 1-5 without Giannis and 4-9 with him.

The problem is obvious - they have no one that can score consistently without Giannis in the game to occupy a bunch of guys in the paint.

In retrospect, Buds should have started Snell over Mirotic.  Snell is a much better defender and he’s got length and quickness to challenge a team like Philly.   Guys like Mirotic and Ersan and Lopez will struggle in that regard.  They just don’t match up well athletically against Philly.

I agree it was surprising that Snell got only 8 minutes. He is a decent matchup on Jimmy Butler or Tobias Harris. He's a really good matchup on JJ Redick.

If Mirotic isn't hitting his 3s, he can't be on the floor. He doesn't do anything else well enough to help you

But before they get the max request from Middleton’s agent, they should be on the phone to Bojan Bogdanovic and Danny Green’s agents. I’ll take both of those guys before keeping Middleton.

I'd talk to Tobias Harris.

He’s going to want max money. Like Middleton, he’s not a max player either.

Embiid is a really nice player but he’s proven a lot less than Giannis and he’s not been able to stay completely healthy.

Plus, as witnessed yesterday with the crotch grabbing and mocking the fans near the end of the game he’s a bit of a knucklehead.

What we should be thankful for is the Bucks not extending Parker at all.  The best  move that wasn’t.   Sure, we can dream about an Embiid and Giannis pairing but I’d rather dream of Klay Thompson or Kahwi or Durant pairing.

I agree for 3 quarters (other than Giannis) the Bucks played awful and Philly nearly coughed it up at the end.  5 more minutes in the game and I think the Bucks win.

It was obvious to me that Philly really wanted this one and it’s the Bucks first game without Brogdon.  Buds isn’t the coaching candidate of the year for nothing and he will adjust prior to the playoffs.

They just got Hill back and they need DD and Sterling Brown to get healthy and I think they will be OK.   It’s hilarious listening to sports talk radio and some “fans” are saying they won’t make it out of the first round.  JFC relax people.  Have some faith.
