The only positive of the night, getting Portis and Semi. O back and getting some minutes to work off the rust post-injury.  The bad news was that the rust was considerable on Semi who was a huge liability tonight.

You would have liked to have had those 2 come back on a night where the starting lineup was intact so a shaky performance could be absorbed a bit easier.

No Holiday.  That’s a big deal in terms of his defense.  No way Russell goes for almost 30 if he’s playing.

It seemed to me that Bud was more interested in getting Semi and Portis and Hood minutes than winning the game.

It’s a long season and have to remind myself that there will be nights and games that Bud will either rest guys or experiment with things.  For teams like Minnesota they need every win they can get.

Well, they kinda need a little more than 6/16 and 1/8 from 3 from the other max contract on the floor…

I think some of that had to do with Bud's priorities for the game. Middleton had only taken SIX shots before the 4th quarter. Ojeleye, G. Hill, Hood, Portis, and G. Allen all had close to or more shots than Middleton when they fell way behind. The Bucks ran almost no designed plays to get Middleton open before the 4th. And then, either Giannis got the ball or they gave it Middleton and told him to create offense (just like in several playoff games last year).

The Wolves defense worked because they schemed to allow wide-open shots on the perimeter from anyone but Middleton, and Bud was content with allowing that to happen. Guys that should hit those shots just couldn't hit them last night. Connaughton was also terrible shooting last night for the first time all season (2 for 11).

Someone needs to remind Russ that he’s not a good 3pt shooter.  He’s also a terrible decision maker running the point.

He’s a crazy athlete that plays hard and fills up the stat sheet but he’s a momentum and chemistry killer.  Have fun with that Lakers.

He's the perfect guy to have on a team fighting for the 8th playoff seed. He's an exciting guy to watch and is liable to go for some ridiculous stats in any one game.

As you say, he's not a good fit for a team like the Lakers. On a good team, he should play more like Rajon Rondo has over his career. Shoot as little as possible from outside, concentrate on finishing at the rim, and ring up 12+ assists and double-digit rebounds. I don't think his ego could handle that. He's averaged 19 shots a game in his career. Rondo has never averaged more than 12 in a single year.

It was the stereotypically Russell Westbrook game.

Westbrook put up a quadruple-double.

20 points (8 for 20 from the floor, 2 for 8 from 3)

14 rebounds

13 assists

10 turnovers

The fact that Westbrook is top 75 all-time and people like Moncrief aren't is all about padding your stats.

I was going to watch it but decided against it when I saw the big lead.
