Not a must win, but I sure would love to see it. There’s a flicker of concern that the Bucks can’t handle top shelf guards. Well, they get the best duo in the NBA tonight... can Brogdon/Bledsoe/DiVincenzo do a little more than they did against Lillard/McCollum the other night?

GS takes it down to 19, but the Bucks answer with an 8-0 run of their own with defense and ball movement. They may leave Durant on the Bench.

Giannis with 5 fouls and has been in the bench but they may not need him...

Don’t think we’ll see any stars now up 29...

It tells you a lot about what Green means to that team. That vaunted 3rd quarter run that was expected was stymied, countered,  and buried.

Another big night from the Bucks bench.

Golden State is not the same team without Green but not sure they win last night even with him.  The Bucks weren’t going to be denied.

I will say this though- if Curry is out for an extended period of time they are a pretty average team.

Looking forward it makes you wonder the long term outlook of the Warriors.  Durant has a player option next year and he wants to get paid.   Some team (ie Knicks) will back up the Brinks truck to get him and I think he wants his own team to lead along with the money.  That won’t happen in Golden State.  Then there is Thompson who is a free agent and Green who is a free agent the following year.   Do they sign both of them?

Overall, there could be a ton of player movement in the offseason.  Not only is Klay on market, but it’s expected that Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler will opt out, Kemba Walker is a free agent, as is our guy Bledsoe.  It’s also very possible and likely that Kahwi Leonhard (like the aforementioned Durant) will opt out making them free agents as well.   The way Khris Middleton is playing he may be setting himself up for a nice payday. It could end up being the most interesting offseason in league history.

No Draymond ( heart of GSW defense) & no Curry (heart of their offense) not the same team.

I hope Curry is OK. MRI today for abductor strain .

Green is probably their 5th best player (Durant, Curry, Thompson, and Boogie Cousins when he gets healthy), but he's their most important player. The other guys (certainly the first 3) are all finesse players (not soft players, but more finesse than force). Green sets the tone on defense and isn't afraid to call out his teammates when they get lackadaisical.

They can lose Curry, Durant, or Klay for a few weeks and still win 75% of the time. They do have to change the offense with Curry out to more of a Durant isolation scheme.

Good post.

I think Durant ends up in New York with another star - maybe Kyrie.

Klay says he wants to stay in the Bay Area, but he makes a lot of sense in LA. He's from LA and his father played for the Lakers. LeBron needs to be surrounded by catch and shoot guys who don't need to be ball dominant. Klay Thompson is the best combination of catch and shoot and defense around -maybe the best in NBA history.

The Warriors will likely sail through the playoffs this year and win their 4th title in 5 years. But, this could be it. Durant and Klay may leave. Iguodala is about to turn 35.  Draymond Green is a great fit for the current team, but he's a glue guy. He's not a star in isolation. He's a better version of Shane Battier. When he has to one of the top 2 players on a team, his liabilities (which is what dropped him to a second round pick in the first place) will become much more apparent.

Ironically, the Warriors could end up moving to the new arena in Mission Bay and turn into the #4 or #5 seed with Curry and Green the only part of the core left. They would be attractive for some new free agents, but guys might shy away from signing there and having to follow up in the shoes of this super team.

I think it’s a little early to be tossing shovel loads on the Warriors. They will likely not have Durant, this may be true... but they are managed with one of the league’s best groups and are not going just fade into oblivion.

Last night the Bucks landed a few haymakers in the first half, and in the third countered them until they cried uncle. That game easily meant more to the Bucks than the Warriors. But you can see the looks on their faces... and they talked about what Curry said- that the Bucks remind him of the year they hired Kerr.

The Bucks pound and slash teams into submission. They just did it to the Champs. They are here.

Fear the Fuc*ing Deer!!!

I do think it’s possible that Durant and Kyrie go to the NYK.  They have the cap space and that seems to be the prevailing rumor.

The Nets and Clippers and Bulls could easily absorb 2 max type players.  Heck, under the right circumstances they might be able to secure 3 of those players.

The Sixers and Lakers could add another stud player (max deal) next year as well. Both of those teams are better positioned to win given their current talent.

Then there are wildcard teams like the  Celtics and Nuggets and even the Bucks.  Depending on who stays or goes any of those teams could open up a max contract slot.

I would think Golden State will do everything they can to retain Klay Thompson.  With Curry and Klay and Green that’s still a really good team but Durant makes them almost impossible to beat if they are all playing.

Durant took his discount and got his ring so I’d say there’s a 90% chance he’s gone after this year.

1 more thing.....make no mistake. The W's just got run in their own building. That never happens. Giannis was on the bench for the 4th quarter.

Yes folks....I know it's only November. However as long as these Bucks stay healthy, they are going to be a PITA for the entire Association to deal with.

Durant might want to come to Milwaukee. Giannis is a Durant fan.

Oh oh!!!

Believe it’s the most points allowed in the Kerr era.   I agree Boris you do not see teams go into Oracle and work them over like that.

To me the key is Bledsoe.  If he plays like he has they will make the conference finals.

Love the energy. Bud has them moving the ball and doing a great job of spacing....and defending the entire court !!

Would still kill for a guard like Lillard though. Bledsoe is love-hate with me.

Terry Rozier is a restricted free agent next year. If for some reason Boston retains Kyrie Irving I wouldn’t hesistate to sign him to an offer sheet replacing Bledsoe as the starting PG.   I believe Jeff Teague and Kemba Walker are also available next year.

Or they just extend Brogdon and put DD in the starting lineup.

Bledsoe is better than Rozier... or at least he will be. Under Buds, he’s learning how to play. Bledsoe is a better athlete, and if he takes to the coaching, he’s too strong and too good an athlete. His potential is to be a top 5 PG.

There is no question that Bledsoe is an elite talent.  The problem is he’s a risk because I’m not sure he’s mature or committed or motivated enough to realize said ability.

He is on record gushing about Bud and I hope that continues.  But is he a 20MM guy?   Not sure.  I would sign Middleton or Brogdon before him that’s for damn sure.

As for Rozier I think he could be a starter.  Maybe not as gifted but he plays with an attitude and is clutch.  He won’t command big bucks.   If they want to carve out 25MM to Middleton I would go after him.
