So, at least Fickell seems to have gotten the program back to where they look like they can consistently dominate the lower half of the Big 10, but are still outclassed by the top 10-15 teams in the country. That's basically what they were during the better years under Chryst. Win 8-9 games a year, go to a decent mid-level bowl, occassionally get a New Year's Day game, and not really threaten Ohio State.

The problem they have now is that there are about 4-5 teams in the new Big 10 that can approach the talent level (or have the NIL money) of OSU - Ohio State, USC, Oregon, Michigan, and Penn State.
