and damn it, they were doing pretty good in the first half and now……. AGAIN stink in the 2nd half. What the heck is their problem in the 2nd half??? What does the coach say at half time that they come out and just stink in the 2nd half. 😡

Overtime in Huskerland. Badgers score 1st in OT, lead 63-61.
17 point lead to losing by 9 right now.

They NEED A NEW COACH. JMHO. How do they rule the first half then, just fall apart in the second?? How does that happen???
This one really hurts. Like Maynard said Badgers had a 17 point lead at one time. With game tied at 61 and 1 second difference on game clock and shot clock Hepburn dribbles out the clock and takes about a 25 footer which missed. That caused the OT. Why they didn't drive and then kick back out or try to draw a foul on the drive is puzzling. They never seem to be able to drive in for a lay up at any time.
And AGAIN…….GET RID OF THE COACH.
glad I was stuck at work today
There's nobody currently on the roster I'd want taking the last shot.
Fucking Bucky.

That's no way to describe Goldie.
I was unable to watch and forgot to record it. Looking at the box score, other than shooting percentage nothing seems to far out of whack, what the hell happened?
This game was rough to watch and a few things are evident. The Badgers really don't have a go to guy and there is no depth. In an OT game, with 2 -3 guys in foul trouble, the bench plays 29 minutes? 15 by Davis so 14 minutes outside of their top 6 players. No wonder they ran out of gas. I'm also not sure traveling directly to Lincoln from PSU was a good idea. Wahl had one of the most brutal games I've seen him play. Most of us agree that the Badgers are not very good offensively but what is being overlooked is how poor the defense has played. There were plenty of years when the offense didn't shoot so hot but defense and FT shooting compensated for it. Not this team.
Their next 3 games are at the Kohl Center maybe they can right the ship.
On a higher Badger note, Leo Chenal and Melvin Gordon become the 22nd and 23rd Wisconsin players to earn a Super Bowl ring.
Melvin with an asterisk
Anyone see Gard’s talk after the Cornkids game?? Ugh, he’s the problem, JMHO. He was saying in the second half there were multiple problems on the defensive side of the ball offensive too….. 🤬 They were up 17 in the first half, they go into the locker room come back and lose. Ah, coaches fault.
Reporters asked about what happened in second half and OT. Gard and players all said afterwards, defense was horrible. I am not making excuses for the poor defense but I can’t help but wonder if fatigue is a factor— our non existent bench is making guys play lots of minutes.

Fatigue. They just don't have the depth. Gard is a very solid HC but when it comes to talent it's just not a deep roster. When you look beyond the starting 5 the #6 guy is Davis, who has a scholarship as part of a package deal, #7 Gilmore who was a walk on, and McGee who is down to about 5 minutes a game.

Not the coaches fault that the game was lost. They were just worn out. An overtime game on the road at Penn State and then fly to Nebraska and play less than 48 hours later. Fatigue was the reason for the loss, not coaching. After the starting 5 the rest of the guys are mostly end of the bench guys on a D 3 team. If you want to blame Gard for poor recruiting, have at it. But I have yet to see a coach who can force guys to come and play for them.

Why, did he fumble the ring?

I think the Badgers were shooting over 50% at the half and that continue for the first 3-4 minutes in the 2nd half. They finished at 36% so you have to throw up a lot of bricks to fall that far. The defense is terrible. Every opponent either drives the lane or simply backs a Badger defender into the paint.
I understand that Gard hasn't had recruiting success but it's a tough hill to climb at Wisconsin. The state doesn't have a ton of HS talent and Wisconsin isn't exactly a destination in the winter. Combine that with higher academic standards and Gard is left with 3 star developmental players. These type of teams have no room for error and have to excel at the fundamentals. That's what's disappointing about this team, poor defense, FT shooting, and rebounding isn't great either.

At least he didn't drop the trophy.
