Good finish to the half. Getting good inside looks, and after a rough start are finally making the baskets in the paint.

I worry that Ryan will get away from what's working- names, Kaminsky and Brust. Don't go back to Berggren unless Frank starts slowing down. Bergg needs rest, and for him to see that he doesn't have as much pressure to score for his team as he thinks he does.
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many missed free throws. It has and will kill this team. They are not talented enough offensively to not take gifts like that.

On the other side, really nice games from Franks and Brust, I was acutally surprised when they said Brust had 18.

I'm going to start keeping tabs on when Jackson and Marshall do something that really makes me scratch my head. Marshall came out ahead today 3-2.
I was shocked when I saw the Badgers shot 42 FTs. I think the Illini only had like 16 attempts. Still, in a close game you have to make more than 66% of your throws. That is just damn frustrating but the good news is they won.

Brust had a solid game and overall I thought the Badgers were really aggressive hence the FT disparity.

Road wins aren't easy and as ugly as this team has looked at time I will take a 6-3 conference record any day.
They're starting to execute. For some time I didn't really like Kaminsky's game. He just looked stiff, and lumbering out there. But I am warming up to his future. He's no athlete. But he seems to be a pretty smart ball player, and that combined with his ability to knock down a shot makes him more than useful in this program. I am starting to see what Ryan sees in him, and I like it. And I like that he stayed very much within himself out there today. Never seemed to get rattled, stayed cool, and executed.

So Berggren can relax. You have a post-mate to get things done. Get your game back and you two can be an excellent pair of long-armed big men that can do what so many in a long line of Bagder big men have done- go inside-outside and play solid post D.
Sweet 16 will depend greatly on the bracket. Any Big Ten teams in their path (one of the upper tier teams ahead of them) in their first 2 rounds and I doubt they get past hem. Those teams and coaches know this Badger team all too well.

But a couple Big East or SEC teams or certain mild-majors? their style of play and size might push them past those kinds of teams.
