GO BUCKY!!!
Tyler Wahl out, with that injured ankle. He's wearing a walking cast. Bucky's Bench will need to step up. When he injured his ankle vs Minnesota, it looked like it really hurt. Hopefully the walking cast will allow it to heal more quickly.
Carter Gilmore starting in place of Wahl.
Ilver makes a nice shot.
Gilmore playing well. Rebounding and making shots. 4 points for him, in the paint.
Ilver, playing solid D, forces an Illini turnover.
Klesmit drains a 3. Bucky's first of the game.
Essegian drains a 3 on the turnover. Bucky retakes the lead.
Gilmore with a nice pass to a wide open Hepburn, for 2.
Jordan Davis for 2 and 1.
Illini with an 11-3 run goes to halftime with a 3 point lead. 27-30.
Badgers have been a second half team all year. Gard and the rest of the staff know how to make adjustments and get the guys fired up.
A really garbage foul called on Crowl sent the Illini to their end of the half run. That said, I felt like Essegian sat a little too much in the first half. They are going to need his offense in the second half. Gilmore played a real nice half, and Ilver chipped in with some nice contributions.
we need some toughen-up pills here in the 2nd half.
Damn…….
You didn't expect them to all of their B1G games did you?
The Badgers had a lousy game from the arc and the FT line. Illinois did better than usual in those areas including a 27% career 3 point shooter going 6-9. That's hard to overcome when you're not shooting well. With Wahl on the floor this team can play with anybody in the Big Ten.
A couple weeks ago I would have said Chucky is the one player they can't do without, I probably am not giving Wahl enough credit.
When this one got away, Bucky was in no position to really make it up.
I do like that Crowl is showing more toughness
Things that Crowl does that don’t see the stat sheet. #badgers pic.twitter.com/4IY0d1RUm4
