Bucky played like a bunch of freshmen for 30 minutes, then played outstanding for 9 minutes 30 seconds, then played like freshmen for 30 seconds.

They will learn how to close out games, but things should have never gotten out of hand like they did.  Bo losing out on guys like Ellenson and Stone might feel bad (OK, it does feel bad, those are talented guys), but what really hurts is there is no development of PG after BK.  Showy bring nice energy and plays good defense in spurts, but I hate seeing him bring the ball up the court.  The next problem is that BK is also the best shooting guard on the team.

BK and Hayes belong, Happ is showing that he is a player.  After that, some real problems with this squad.  Iverson is hurting, Thomas is not getting better, and Brown should be a 6th man.

El-ka. You're right. This team has three guys that are ready to play big minutes. Outside of Koenig, Hayes, and Happ, the other 4-5 guys in the rotation are either guys that should be playing 8-10 minutes a game (Showalter and Brown) or redshirting this year (the true freshman that are playing). The biggest problem is that only Hayes and Koening can shoot from outside. To go from all 7 rotation guys being able to shoot the 3 to only two is a big change.

At this rate, they'll probably be lucky to have a winning record and make the NIT. As I've said before, that's expected after losing 5 of 7 guys in the rotation from a two-time final 4 team.

In the long run I think UW will be just fine.  They have proven their success over time.  There's just not a lot of quality depth in the near future but someone has to step up.

Marquette had a couple of down years but they are definitely trending up.  Ellenson looks good - really good- and could be a future stud.   Chatham can defend and shoot and create and he will get a lot better.  Cohen is finally developing into a solid talent.   And Fischer is just a decent all around player.
