Good game against a team that will likely play Alabama in the National Championship, but this is who the Badgers have been for the last 25 years - a team that is almost always good, but almost never good enough to be in the National Championship discussion. However, they've definitely overachieved this year to be where they are.

The fact that they are back to this level is great given what the Andersen years appeared to be leading to and compared to what it was like to be a fan in the 1980s, this is great, but 8 to 10 win seasons are the norm.

Holding on the center on the last drive of regulation was a killer. It was really looking good.

Overall Badgers were looking gassed after the first half.  They played lights out and couldn't keep it up.

Suckeyes beat them fair and square, but Bucky could have won that one. That holding penalty is going to haunt me. I really thought it was going to end on a Badger FG in regulation.

Ugh.

You don't get many chances to land statement wins and this would have been one

Always be closing - something UW has struggled to do in recent history against the better Big Ten teams

They are on the right track just would have been nice to knock off those arrogant O$U ****ers

BTW if the Bucks played Bama today they would lose by at least 20

Just finished watching...on that last play....they were showing the full view....Horni will learn...but why worry about a pick at that point....he should've just winged it  where the WR was going to be on the sideline 1 yard deep in the endzone.  It looked like it was there....but, oh well...so proud of this team!   Horni, with more experience, will be a very good QB.

BTW...I saw Stave at the College Game Day show...does his NFL team have a bye this weekend?

Defense played well but made plenty of mistakes.  The killer was the Cichy missed sack late in the game that Barrett slipped out of on 3rd down for a TD.

That was the story of the game.  Close but not close enough. UW could not finish or make the stop when it counted.

Glad to see how well they competed but it's like Sojourn Shelton said they have had way too many games like this coming up short.

Get after Iowa next week and Nebraska the following week and we will see where things end up.  If they win out this will be a very good season and the way this team has played they are capable of running the table.

Yep that seems to be their history over the years to play the teams they should win really tough but ultimately find a way to pee down their legs and lose.  But I am very proud of that team and the effort that they put in last night.  One of these days they will beat that damn team.   I have to live among them and they drive me freakin nuts.

And I agree right now Bama would wipe the floor with OSU.   But watch out for O$U in the next couple of years their recruiting is supposed to be historically good.

I think we are all tired of losing like this....but, remember, these are the top teams in the country we've faced the past 2 weeks.   IF Chryst can get the players to put it behind them and psychologically get them focused on "next team up"; the Badgers should win the West.   I think we will need Nebraska to lose another B1G game, however.

I agree on Chryst was calling plays for O$U their offense would just destroy everyone.  One big thing for me is that I know he hasn't been there that long but to me this program feels different now.  I can't figure out exactly why I feel that way maybe it is because you can see they are playing tough and are making a real effort to throw the ball.

As for Chryst calling O$U's plays I agree and for a few weeks now there has been grumbling about Urban's offense. I have had the misfortune of living an hour from Columbus for about 12 years now and this morning was the first time I have heard their fans openly vocal about their displeasure with Urban's offense.  They are blistering Urban today and honestly I agree with them.  I know they are a spoiled rotten and hard to tolerate group of fans but I have to agree with them just this once.

Anyhow, I agree the one game that I saw on this schedule that scared me is this week at Iowa.  UW has struggled there sometimes and I really am worried about the let down factor in this one.  But if they can get by it I think they stand a good chance to win their division.  I haven't seen Nebraska play but from what I have heard the jury is still out on them.

If I recall correctly, I've probably mentioned that I am an OSU alum/fan.  This weekend is the only 3-4 hours where I'm not actively rooting against UW, just rooting for OSU.  UW played a great game, as always playing the Badgers at Randall proved to be a tough task.

Couple of things, UW is clearly the class of the West.  Playing this schedule gauntlet should prepare the young QB and the team to really run the table the rest of the season.  I look forward to OSU/UW part II in the big ten championship.

Heckler, I agree with you on both of your points, 1) there are way too many bandwagon OSU smucks that ruin it for fans like me.  And 2) agree that there is something with OSU offense that needs fixing, much like our beloved Pack it just doesn't look right.
