Hopefully this will not be a major disruption to the current recruiting class.  The Badgers had enough issues with this in the past.  Fortunately it doesn't appear that there will be a mass exodus of position coaches heading to Louisiana with Aranda.  For example, Ed Orgeron is the defensive line coach and it's unlikely that Miles would be letting Orgeron get off that staff as he is a true luxury to have as a position coach.

Message boards (BadgerNation in particular) have already lit up...seems like the faithful prefer current Houston defense coordinator Todd Orlando to take over for Aranda.  He's an ex-Badger, took over at Utah State after Aranda left and his defense apparently took it to Florida State in the bowl game.  Houston also ran a 3-4 but I have no idea how similar it is to Aranda's 3-4 defense.  Looks like Orlando would be a good fit.  The rumors of Aranda leaving seem to have been going on ever since he got here, and there has never really been any talk of one of the current assistants getting bumped up to the DC position.  Todd Orlando appears to be a pretty good candidate if the Badgers fill the spot externally.

Former 4-star QB recruit D.J. Gillins has announced he is leaving the program.  That was widely expected and is actually a plus for Bucky because he probably wasn't going to get on the field here.  Opens up a scholarship for a different player.  Best of luck to D.J. in his future, it's unfortunate that it didn't work out for him here.

I think Bucky is going to be fine.  I really like how the team rallied at the end of the year and kept composure despite being F'd by the refs in NW game.

It's a great program and I have faith that PC and BA will get a guy in that can get the job done.   Once we get the sludge of GA's recruiting out and build off of what we have, it's going to continue to be a fun club to watch.

Aranda, who was paid $520,000 annually at UW, is set to be paid $1.3 million annually for the next three seasons. That contract is guaranteed regardless of the status of head coach Les Miles, who was nearly fired this season.

Hard to blame the guy.

Article sites two possible replacements, but I think Orlando is a longshot.  He is already making half a million at Houston, I can't imagine Barry would offer more than that (Barr is no longer responding to my texts after Arranda left). Chryst speaks highly of Tibesar (not shocking) so I would guess the promotion comes from within.
