"Did you know that an MLB.TV purchaser in Las Vegas can’t watch the Diamondbacks, the Dodgers, the Padres, the Angels, the Athletics or the Giants?"

Shit.

And I was pissed when I lived just 2 hours from there in Utah and I was blocked from Brewer games vs. the Rockies and Diamondbacks. In Florida, I'm blocked from the Marlins (300 freaking miles away) and Rays (200 miles)

When we move to Asheville, I'll be blocked from Braves and.......Reds games.

Maddening for fans. As mentioned, maybe Manfred could spend his time concerning himself with this topic as opposed to others.

For those of you like me that don't get FS WI (Bally WI now) anymore try uzzu.tv.     I signed up for the 1-week package at first for $7 or so just to give it a try.  On opening day the Brewer feed did freeze up on me a couple of times, but it's been perfect ever since.

Last week I signed up for the 1-month package to try it out a little more.   Was about $18 for the month.   If I'm happy after the month is up I'll get the yearly pass for about $110.

They don't have an auto-pay so no worry about cancelling if you're not happy, just don't renew.

Not sure how or if it's entirely legal, but they claim to be US-based.   MBL, NHL, NBA are all streamed along with all the FS regional channels.

I've gone from 90% skeptical to about 25% skeptical (it does seem too good to be true).  We'll see if it's legit or not, but I've been able to catch Brewers and Bucks games for the past 3 weeks.  Watch mainly on my phone and laptop, but I also installed the DuplexPlay app on my Samsung Smart TV and am getting Uzzu through that now.

It is there because MLB thinks people don't want 15 inning games.  They want the game over in 2 1/2 hours because they think people lose their attention if a game goes any longer.  I know I'm in the minority but I live 3 hours + from American Family Field.  I wouldn't drive to Milwaukee the see a 2 hour movie but I'm supposed to drive to Milwaukee for a 2 hour baseball game.    With all the blackout rules for TV, runner on 2nd for extra innings, pitchers forced to throw to 3 batters, well baseball is just killing it self.

MLB isn’t going to grow their fan base and pull in (more) younger viewers with that new rule.

Baseball is a slow, methodical, structured experience and honestly it’s part of the appeal for some fans.  They could cut the game to 5 innings and have 1 hour games and you still won’t get some people to watch.

What MLB continues to trip over themselves about is they think the game is what gets people to watch.  As with just about any professional sport, it’s about star players.   And how the those organIzations and leagues market those star players.

Mike Trout might be one of the best players of his generation but how many people have actually watched him play?   Everyone knows who Pat Mahomes is or who LeBron James is.

Yeah, we bought the Biltmore Estate and are turning it into an airbnb.

Mrs. Kiel and I are kinda nomadic and thought we'd give Western NC a try. Beautiful area---our neighborhood is right off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Won't be there for around 18 months as we haven't even put a shovel in the ground yet. Neat place---kinda like the Austin of the East Coast.

Burnes 2019 season is one of the more puzzling seasons in Brewer history.

In 2018, 2020, and 2021, Burnes has a win-loss record of 13-2. He has appeared in 66 games and has an ERA under 2.00 and a WHIP of under 1.00. In these three seasons his numbers look like Pedro Martinez.

In 2019, he was probably the worst pitcher in baseball. An ERA of almost 9. It was almost all because he gave up home runs at the pace a batting practice pitchers would. 17 HRs in 49 innings. Was he tipping pitches?

Now in 2021, he's had one of the greatest 4 game stretches in baseball history. 40 strikeouts, 0 walks, his WHIP is about 0.33.

Almost all MLB hitters can hit a 4 seam fastball no matter how fast it is thrown.  Since Burnes has developed a sinker he throws at 98 MPH and a cutter that is 96 MPH he is much more effective.  Add in a staight change and a curve, he has been pitching well.   I also remember he used to wear glasses but doesn't now.  Don't know if he has contacts now or had Lasix surgery.  Maybe it's his Hader like hair.
